"No response?" Iris texted.

I was done getting ready for the day and was making breakfast for me and Billie.

I smiled a bit at Iris's message.

Texting her was like a gully pleasure.
I know I shouldn't but I couldn't help it.

Iris

No response because you lied to me

Forgive me
I wanted to surprise you

As I was typing, Billie walked into the kitchen.

She headed straight for the pantry.

"good morning, I made breakfast," I smiled.

she didn't respond.

she grabbed a granola bar from the pantry and then grabbed her keys.

"where are you going?" I asked.

"out," she mumbled.

"what about your breakfast?"

"I'm not hungry," she replied as she opened the front door.

Before she left the apartment completely, she turned around to look at me, still standing in the doorway.
"And don't go anywhere," she said quietly.

"as if I have anywhere else to go," I said in a sarcastic tone.

she left.

Then, I received yet another text from Iris:

You should come over and get it ;)

     I've never been to her place and I was contemplating going.

In this moment I really just needed a friend.

Billie doesn't have to know...

Once I got to Iris's apartmen, she immediately hugged me tightly once I walked through the door.

"Iris, chill," I told her.
"I know, but I missed you. What happened?" she asked.

I didn't know how to answer.
"I fucked up," I said.

"how?" she asked.

"having sex with my girlfriend's ex? that was so low of me," I confessed.

"technically she's not your girlfriend anymore," Iris said.

"my point still stands. What we did was wrong," I replied.

She stared into my eyes.

"Did it feel wrong?" she asked.

"How so?" I asked back.

"Did it feel wrong when I was three fingers deep inside you?" she asked.

"Iris, stop," I said.

"answer the question," she insisted.

"I don't know," I said.

"did it feel wrong because you wanted it to?" she asked.

"I don't know..." I trailed off.
"I thought so," she said.

"Look, I'm sorry. You came to me at a moment of weakness. Like literally right after me and Billie broke up. I was vulnerable," I said honestly.

"okay," she replied.
