I just stared at the blank canvas for awhile, as if I was waiting for something. But u didn't know why or for what. It's not like I didn't know what I was going to paint. When I tried to start though nothing felt right. My posture was too stiff, my brush felt heavy in my hand and the paints seemed too thick. Whenever this happened I just had to stop and back away from my work before I ruined it. I went to my dresser, grabbed a pair of shorts that I'd never where in public and changed my t-shirt to a tang top feeling suddenly hot.
Flopping on my bed, I stared at the ceiling think of what Lucas said and Aidan. Most of my thoughts swirled around him when I got bored. I sighed and got my phone back, starting to play a stupid game that I have an addiction to. My phone vibrated, pausing the game and opened the text from my mom.
Hey, I won't be home till late. Order a pizza or something. Moneys on the table xoxo
I checked the time, 5:42. I was a little surprise at the time. I guess I spent more time playing that game than I though. I went to the table and turned on the tv that was in the living room. I could easily watch it from the kitchen. As I was about to punch in the number for the usual pizza place I ordered from a commercial for some Chinese place came in. It was a new one in town that was having a grand opening sale.
I wrote the number down, suddenly craving dumplings. I ordered some extra in case my mom came home early or I got hungry later. I jumped over the couch and flipped through the channels until I found The Big Bang Theory on My 9.
An episode and a half later the bell rang. Walking over to the door, I looked the peep hole and almost fell backwards when I realized it was Aidan. Unlocking the door I opened it, trying not to seem surprised. He looked as surprised yo see me as I was to see him.
"Um, hi" I said awkwardly, moving out of the doorway for him to walk through the door. He looked around my house and set the bag on the kitchen table.
"We'll this is...." he started, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Yeah.." I said walking over to the kitchen, trying hard not to freak out that Aidan was in my house and I was basically in my pajamas. I handed him the 20 and shuffled from one foot to another, looking at the floor.
I felt his eyes look at, what I felt was, my exposed body. I never wore anything like this at school. His eyes seemed to be between delight and surprise.
"I had no idea you lived here" he said, still looking over my body.
"I didn't know you were a delivery boy" I said locking up at him. His eyes snapped to mine.
"I'm not really- it's just for the weekend." He rambled on stupid reasons why he was, he was filling I for a friend, he was just testing it out. I rolled my eyes and leaned back against the table.
After awhile he started to fish for change, I shook my head. "Keep the change" I said.
He smiled, "thanks. See you at school tomorrow." He walked out and I let out a deep breathe. Well tomorrow won't be awkward I thought bitterly..
Thursday morning, 5th period
I walked into the school wearing my usual look. Faded skinny jeans and a low cut v-neck that hugged my curves, I hid under a sweatshirt so no one could see how tight my shirt was. My black boots finished the outfit, my hair had small waves in it. Today was my lad so I didn't have a chance to change out of this shirt. I was running late so I just grabbed whatever was in my closet.
I wasn't used to wearing stuff like this. It hung to close to my body and made my chest look kinda bigger. It made people actually look at me in the halls. Guys stared at me as I walked by, I felt like there was a stop light on me at all time and I HATED it! I was not a spot light kind of person.
