I was a 'night walker', as my friends put it until lunch. Where I was lost in my own little thoughts, dreaming of Aidan. Wondering why he kept my letter, if he was thinking about me, if he liked me. I only had one class with him, next period actually, he seemed really great. Of course we never really talked....but that was a minor detail, a trival thing that could possibly change. I mean I could always try to strike up a conversation with him, it can't be that hard...
"AURORA!" Tiffany shouted at me. Snapping me out of the best mood I've been in all month, my head whipped towards her and a smal glare formed on my face. "Finally! I thought you went into a trance or something."
Tiffany was a short girl, she had just reached 5 foot, she had longish hair that came a little past her shoulders in think blond curls that seemed out of place with her darker skin tone. She was hlaf hispanic and part portarican, she was naturally tan but it was a light tan that most girls pay for. She had hazel eyes that looked really big when she was surprised. When she smiled she should too much teeth and her eyes squinted a little.
"Ugh! What is it Tiff" I groaned, wishing I could let my mind wander to Aidan and my note. Thinking about what would happen if he ever found out....oh god....If he ever figures out it's me I'd just die. And he will find out eventully right? I'm not good at keeping my own secrets, I usually slip up and everything falls apart. Or I assume that's what would happen, I never really had a secret that was all mine.
"AURORA, SNAP OUT OF IT!" TIffany shouted at the top of her lungs, truth be told I didn't exactly like Tiffany, but I just didn't have the heart to tell her she was a little brat.
"What? What? I'm listening!" I said back, completely annoyed she broke my train of thought for the seconf time in 3 minutes. She sighed dramaticly then went into a rant about how she started to 'contect' with some guy. Crush of the week I call them, she had a new one almost every week. Once she had a crush on someone for a month, but that was rare. She was used to getting whatever she wanted and thought that everyone was at her beck and whim.
I tuned back in before she could yell at me agian, "he is just so amazing Aurora, he's on the football team you know? What's hotter than a jock, nothing!" I rolled my eyes a little, wow, she fell for a jock this time...same as last time. "You know you could get a boyfriend if you want, and we could double date! Wouldn't that be great?"
"Maybe she doesn't want a boyfriend" Jaocb said, my best friend in the world who stood as a barrier between me and Tiffany. Once in the 7th grade people thought we were dating, that changed though once he went on vacation and met a girl who lived a town over. They've been dating since and the rumors stopped, though occasionally I got that glance that said there were still ideas floating around.
He was on the shorter side and barely talked at all, only at 5'7 he was about 2 inches taller than me but that didin't stop him from rubbing it in my face every other day. He had dirty blond hair that had a sort of just-got-out-of-bed look to it. He had some freckles across the bridge of his nose and he was on the lighter side but got really tan when summer came around it wasn't even funny. His eyes were a darker blue that could look like fire in the right light, you really didn't want to see him angry. It is completely terrifying!
"Why wouldn't she" Tiffany asked. "What girl doesn't want a boyfriend to kiss and cuddle with and that buys them gifts and flowers and goes on pinics...." she trailed off on different things she thought meant to have a boyfriend. A hopeless romantic. I was one too, but I was more would write songs and send a good night text kind of person. Where Tiff was a buy dimands and peals and go to their beach house kind of romantic.
"I'm just not looking for one right now" I said and turned back to the untouched food. I started to eat my french fries as everyone looked at me. "What? Do I have something on my face?" I whiped my face weirdly and made a face that was like I smelled a rotton cabage.
