Mikey POV

Mei wriggles wildly in my arms as I try to hold her. Tears stream down her face incessantly, accompanied by a recurring plea: "Let go of me!"
"I'm sorry babe," I whisper softly as I gently wrap the crook of my arm around her neck, squeezing the air out of her until she finally loses consciousness. Her body slumps in my arms and a relieved sigh escapes my throat. "You should give me something with a harmless effect," I snap at Sanzu. Sanzu, who has been following us, raises his hands innocently and shrugs. "Those were the weakest I had," he defends himself.

With an annoyed roll of my eyes, I turn back to my unconscious friend. However, I can't suppress a grin. As she will now sleep peacefully for the rest of the night, I pick her up and make my way home.
The party is over for us.

What a shame, really.

[...]

The next day, we are woken from our sleep by the insistent ringing of a cell phone. I can tell from the ringtone that it's Mei's phone, so I decide not to answer it and snuggle up closer to my girlfriend instead. She is also woken by the ringing and grumbles to herself as she reaches for the cell phone lying on the bedside table.
She answers the call with a tired "Mhh?", her other arm around her eyes as she exhales in stress. With a tired "Okay", she puts the cell phone aside again.
"I'm supposed to go home... it's important, apparently," she mumbles as she slowly tries to get out of my embrace and stand up. But since I have my arms wrapped tightly around her stomach, I gently hold her back and press her against me again. "You might as well," I yawn tiredly and press my face into her neck. Without giving me an answer, she lies still and I notice how her breathing slowly calms down as she snuggles up to me.

After a while, her cell phone rings again and the shrill tone jolts me out of my sleep once more. Annoyed, I sit up to reach for it, only to almost smash it against the wall, but Mei is quicker and takes it out of my hand.
She answers the phone again, and the voice on the other side is so loud that even I can hear it. "Where the hell are you? I told you two hours ago to come here now!" her brother shouts. Mei looks at me with widened eyes and freezes for a moment. "Oh damn, I fell asleep again," she apologizes quietly. Her voice sounds worried and apologetic at the same time. "I'll be right there," she says and hangs up.
Then she literally jumps out of bed to get dressed. I watch her tiredly and yawn to myself. "Shall I drive you?" I ask, although I secretly hope she'll refuse. She sits down in bed with me, takes my face in her hands and looks at me with a slightly angry, but at the same time help-seeking gaze. "What happened yesterday?" she asks. Although her look is angry, her voice trembles anxiously.

When I remember again, I start to smile. "At first you were totally hot for it, but then you suddenly panicked and ran away from me crying," I give her a brief summary. She bites her lip thoughtfully and nods understandingly. "Kenny caught us... didn't he? That's why he wants to talk to me so badly... what should I tell him now?" she asks desperately, almost looking like she's going to burst into tears again.
I raise my eyebrows in confusion and look at her questioningly. "Your brother?" I ask, confused, and she nods again. "Yes! He came in shouting my name and ran after me," she explains.

When I finally understand what she means, I press my lips together so as not to laugh at her. Now I understand why she ran away from me in a panic - she was hallucinating and probably thought I was her brother.
I put my hand on her head and toss her hair. "He wasn't there, baby. The effects of the pill must have been too strong for you. You were hallucinating and imagining it," I explain to her.
She swallows hard. "Are you sure? You're not lying, are you?" she asks uncertainly. "I would never lie to you," I assure her and brush a strand of her hair out of her face. With a quiet "Okay", she finally stands up and starts to put on the rest of her clothes.
"So, do you want me to drive you?" I ask again, as she hasn't given me an answer. She shakes her head. "No, I'm walking. My head is buzzing like crazy and the fresh air will certainly do me good," she says. Finally, she comes to me again, leans down and gives me a short, loving kiss. "Go back to sleep," she whispers and leaves the room. I don't need to be told twice about sleeping and lie down again.

Meiyo POV

The whole way home I worry about why my brother wants to talk to me so badly. His voice on the phone sounded stressed and angry, and even though Mikey claimed he wasn't at the club and didn't see us, thoughts and anxiety keep creeping into my head.
When I finally arrive home, I shout "I'm here!" into the hallway and take off my shoes. I can already hear footsteps coming towards me. When I lift my head and step into the hallway, I literally freeze.
A woman is standing in front of me, a stranger I've never seen before. I'm confused for a moment and look around to make sure I'm in the right apartment. But it's definitely my brother and I's apartment.

I approach her with hesitant steps and scrutinize her from top to bottom while my heart beats wildly. "You're Meiyo, aren't you?" she asks me and I nod cautiously as the skepticism continues to grow inside me. "Where's Kenny?" I ask her, but get no answer. Instead, she rushes up to me and hugs me. The sudden closeness and strangeness of this embrace overwhelm me, pushing me away and literally fleeing into the apartment.
"Kenny!" I scream desperately as I hide behind the couch. "Meiyo, please," she begs, chasing me in circles around the couch and just won't let go of me. "Come here," she adds. I shake my head and grab a pillow from the couch to use as a shield, so to speak. "Stay away from me, you crazy one!", I shout with rising desperation. "KENNY!" I scream again, this time even louder.

Finally Kenny comes out of the bathroom and looks at us both in turn, me running away from the woman and her chasing after me. "What are you doing?" my brother asks, confused, and we both stop abruptly. I immediately run towards him and hide behind him. "Kenny, why is there a crazy woman in our apartment?" I ask immediately, pointing my finger at the woman.
"Calm down, both of you," he says calmly as he takes a step closer. "Let me explain," he says more to me than to her and I'm still clutching my couch cushion. "Who is she?" I whisper questioningly. Kenny stands between the strange woman and me and sighs as he scratches his head.
"I'm sorry for barging in like this," she says suddenly with a hesitant smile.

"I'm Kaya, your mother."
