Sorry about the overdue new chapter. Had been on a writer's block for a bit but hope this makes up for it!

....

Smaug flew back as hard as he could to the Mountain, desperate to get the dwarf's aid in getting his son back. He still had a hard time believing that he was getting help from those he considered enemies.

Which was possibly the reason why his heir was more easy to accept them more than he was. Smaug's eyes lowered a little at the thought. Without his son nearby, how was he going to even talk to them?

At the Mountain Killi was keeping watch when he saw their dragon ally return. But for some reason; he couldn't see Brooklyn. Frowning, he blew the horn to signal his return. Smaug landed at the entrance which was now big enough for both dwarf and dragon to enter in.

Smaug stomped inside, his face burning with grief and anger that his son had disappeared yet again, seeing Thorin and Balin coming over.

"What has ya be all distressed?" Balin questioned, looking quite worried. Smaug growled lowly at him but kept his temper around these pitiful dwarfs.

His eyes were ablaze in his dragon fury. "Those demons took my hatchling! I will go after them!" Smaug roared out, his wings flapping furiously.

Bilbo stared in horror at the thought, Fangspirit next to him whining in fear for his friend. The hobbit now prayed that Brooklyn wouldn't get terribly hurt with the enemy but that was looking unlikely.

Balin raised his hand to try calming down the giant dragon. "Stay calm there. We can't go rushing after the enemy without a plan. Obviously they wanted the lad as some kind of barganing chip. But for who, I don't know."

He then turned to Thorin who tensed. Of course Azog would use some other hapless victim to get his head. Smaug also eyed him as if considering to trade Thorin for his son's life. Thorin held his sword. "I won't fall for that tyrant's dirty tricks. We will plan some other way to get Brooklyn out, but not now." Thorin claimed, much to Smaug's fury and wanting to blast Thorin to pieces but Fangspirit ran up to him, whining. He didn't want to see anybody kill anyone anymore for a while.

Smaug's spines lowered from the sound of the warg pup. He was one of the few pure things left in this world of Middle Earth besides his dear hatchling, so he did his best to calm down, praying that his son would be able to survive as their enemy's hostage and come back home to him.

....

It was dusk at Dol Guldur where Brooklyn was currently held prisoner. One surpisingly horrifying fate for Brooklyn however was that there was a special ingredient from the sleeping poison which turned him back into his gargoyle form, keeping him from being a dragon that would've easily gotten the young hybrid out.

Brooklyn gave a soft moan, coming out of the sedation, rubbing his head but seeing a big cage in front of him in a strange gloomy looking fortress. Panic soon instilled into his head, scrambling to his feet.

Staring down at his hand too, Brooklyn was mortified that he wasn't in his dragon form any longer. This was bad since his gargoyle form can hold up against enemies alright, but he needed his dragon form in order to fly away!

"Not good..." Brooklyn moaned silently, feeling his original beaked face, wings and such. Next he tried pulling on the bars of the cage, gritting his fangs. The metal bars were stronger than they looked, gazing around for his father. "Father! Help me!" He screamed now, panic throbbing in his stomach, darkness sensed all around him, making Brooklyn scared. He wanted to get out!

Soon Brooklyn's ears picked up the sound of a warg that wasn't Fangspirit, his heart thumping miles an hour, as he finally once again saw the White Warg, Azog next to it, who was grinning maliciously, his sword in his prosthetic arm. Brooklyn's eyes lit up in fear but he growled in return, backing into the cage wall.
