Making this randomly because I saw pictures of Taylor and Travis while kissing on a new year's party (kinda hurts if u ask me jk)
Y/N'S POV
I just stared at them as they enjoyed their moment while I was slowly dying inside.
What a great scene to welcome the new year.
"Stop staring at them. You're just hurting yourself" I heard Selena say.
"I think I'll leave now" I say and she looked at me with worry.
"Tell the others that I left early. Enjoy the rest of the party" I say and bid my goodbye to her.
The drive on the way to my parent's house was heavy.
"Honey, I thought you were at Selena's party?" My mom asked as I appeared on the front door.
I shook my head and just cried in her arms.
"I'm not okay, mom" I admitted.
"It hurts" I whimpered.
"Mom is here. Cry all you want" She said and held me gently.
Even though I'm in my 30s, I still need my mom.
I sobbed in her arms for minutes before calming myself down to talk.
"I like Taylor" I admitted and she nodded.
"I'm your mom, Y/N. I know" She says.
Was I obvious?
"I saw her kissing Travis earlier. I don't have the right to feel this way" I say.
"You like her, you have the right to feel hurt with what you've seen" She says.
"But that's all you can do. Get hurt because you're just a friend" She says.
"I hate myself. I'm a coward who can't even tell her that I've liked her for so long" I say.
"Don't hate yourself, honey. But yes, you are a coward" She says.
"Mom, you should cheer me up and make me feel better!" I say and we laughed.
"Honey, that's life. If you don't take the chance, someone else is gonna take it away from you" She says.
"You've known Taylor for years and liked her. But you never told her about it" She says.
"It's always take it or lose it" She says.
"She looked so beautiful at the party" I say.
"She was wearing a backless dress with her hair up" I say.
"She had her hand on my back when we were talking, it was nothing but it made me feel things" I say.
"She also looked so happy with him" I say.
"Isn't that great? She found someone who makes her happy" She says.
"Yeah, that's great" I say then my phone vibrated.
Taylor: Where are you?
Y/N: At my parent's house, I left early.
Taylor: You should've said goodbye to me. Are you okay?
Y/N: I'm alright, just tired and sleepy.
Taylor: Okay. Happy New Year, Y/N!
