Aevor loves being in High Tide. A castle situated on Driftmark. It serves as the seat of House Velaryon.

The island of High Tide is connected to Driftmark by a causeway. On the other side of the causeway lies the port of Spicetown.

The Hall of Nine is the main hall of High Tide, housing the Driftwood Throne. It is also used to display the many treasures acquired on Corlys Velaryon's nine voyages, among other exploits such as the War for the Stepstones.

Speaking of the Sea Snake, it was he who commissioned High Tide's construction to replace Castle Driftmark, the ancestral seat of House Velaryon on the other side of Driftmark.

And right now, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, poised and confident, sat atop the Driftwood Throne, holding the weight of Lady Regent of Driftmark in her husband's absence. As she received a raven bearing news of the aftermath of the battle against the Triarchy remnants' fleet, the tension in the air was tangible, and all eyes were fixated on her every move.

Thanks to her grandson, those remnants turned tails and run.

Beside her, on her right, stood Baela Targaryen, her eldest granddaughter, and ward. Even as a sixteen year old, she had grown into a very stunning young woman who often drew comparisons to her late mother, Lady Laena Targaryen née Velaryon.

To her left, is Aevor Velaryon, her eldest grandson, and second ward. At sixteen or seventeen, he had grown into a handsome, fine young man who often drew comparisons to his late father, Ser Laenor Velaryon. He's already a skilled swordsmen and sailor. And a skilled dragon rider. And he has a dragon that can match The Red Queen's speed.

Since they (Aevor and Baela) were taken in by their grandmother and raised as her wards, Baela most of all, spent most of her teenage years learning the ways of Westeros' nobility as part of her education. At the same time, her younger twin Rhaena remained by their father's side at Dragonstone. And Aevor learns more about the politics of Westeros and as well as the importances of the economy. His martial prowess has also increased and he's been studying the art of war. Even sea warfare. For Aevor he must keep his mind sharp.

Although it was traditionally a common practice for noble children to be taken in by other families and establish close ties and sometimes alliances with other houses across the continent, Baela was so close to her grandmother that they had become inseparable. Just like Aevor. For Rhaenys, she sees so much of her children in her two grandchildren. Aevor and Baela are so much like Laenor and Laena, it's almost like the gods of shaped them to comfort The Queen Who Never was. With the latter having attracted curly hair. And Aevor's hairstyle dreads longer then his father, but shorter then his grandsire. Just shoulder length wise.

"Will he live?" Rhaenys asked in regard to her husband.

"The wound was severe. Much blood was lost, but the greater concern was the following fever. The ship's healer said he burns from within," he informed.
