Aevor was in his bedchambers, looking out the night skies. Sometimes he wished he can hear the waves of the seas.

Now the only thing he can hear is people within the city. Not that he mind. But he often prefers the sounds of waves. They're more soothing to him. Helping him sleep.

After seeing his mother, Aevor had a lot to think about. Ever since Rhaenyra married Daemon Targaryen, he felt betrayed by his mother. She married a man who happens to be her uncle and she didn't see anything wrong with it. On top of that, she married so soon after his father died.

He wondered if she ever loved his father, Laenor. Or was it just a political marriage? He wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Aevor isn't stupid. He's well aware that some highborns have entered a marriage for political reasons. Some a happy marriage. Others unhappy marriage. Now that's not to say Rhaenyra never loved her first born son. She does. And she tried to have more children by Laenor, but she supposed the gods only granted her this one child.

Apart of Aevor wants to do what's right. Tell them truth, and resume his place as both heirs to The Iron Throne and Driftmark. However, if he does this, his mother will lose everything and his brothers will never look at him the same way again. And there's no saying that he'll never have a target on his back. Because he is the true born son of Rhaenyra and his claim will be a threat to his uncle, Prince Aegon Targaryen.

But if he backs his mother, he would be reinforcing the lie that Jace, Luke and Joffrey are his father's son. But he loves them dearly. It's like he said or thought of before. It's better than not having brothers at all.

But he can't deny what Vaemond speaks is true. He is the true Velaryon. The first born son of Laenor Velaryon. The true born son. Sometimes it makes Aevor's head spin.

Which has him going out his window and empties his stomach a bit.

After wiping his mouth away, Aevor turned to his door and noticed not only a letter on the ground, but a gift on the floor. That's wrapped in cloth. He figured it must be important because after he opened the door, he saw no one in the hall.

He picks up the letter and the object and brings them to his bedchambers and closes the door.

He sits on the bed. And before he opens the cloth, he opens the letter and starts to read.

My son, Aevor

If you are reading this, I'm likely dead. Which is unfortunate. Because I would've loved to see you grow into a handsome man that will draw many women and men to you. Speaking of, it is true that I was into men, and I didn't think my marriage to your mother would work out. And I never thought I succeeded in gaining a child.

And yet there you were. Your mother at first refused to let me hold you. She grew so attached to you that she sang in High Valyrian and you fell asleep. When you were six, I watched as she took you on her dragon, Syrax and you two flew together. You were so happy.
