An alarm went off in Keith's pocket. He woke up with a start, stumbling out of bed, fumbling with his jacket to grab the source of the alarm and turn it off. With a Yawn he went into the bathroom grabbing his brush and brushing through his long dark hair. Glancing at himself in the mirror he noticed his eyes- remembering what Lance had said when they first saw each other yesterday.

"My eyes really do look different.." he shrugged, deciding today was not the time to deal with it. Put his hair into a low ponytail, his go to look lately, and grabbed his jacket to go see what everyone else was doing this morning.

The castle was quiet and calm as he walked through the gray and white corridors not really having a place in mind.

"I know it sounds crazy Coran but it happened." Lance and Coran stood in the main control room for the Castle of Lion's 2.0. Lance had hardly slept the night before, his eyes were tired his body stiff and loose at the same time.

"Are you telling me you can activate the ship?" Coran says in disbelief.

"Yes- and I wasn't even trying too!" Lance said. "And before that I woke up to the markings.. they hurt and they were glowing."

"That is fascinating." Coran mutters thoughtfully, rubbing his chin. "Do you think you could do it again? Activating the ship I mean."

"I mean yeah I think so."

"Can you show me?"

Lance takes a deep breath before stepping on to the raised floor. When he let go of the breath the little hand pedestals rose to meet with his palms. The bridge activated opening up the blue holographic screens.

"Lance, this is amazing!" Coran beamed with astonishment.

"More like, terrifying. How is this possible Coran?" Lance says worry and confusion etched in his face.

"I'm not sure- but I bet it has something to do with the fact Allura left you with those markings." Coran pointed out. "Somehow she must have imbued you with Altaen magic!"

"What-? So I'm like- Altean now??"

"Eh not really, maybe closer to.. Half Altean?" Coran mused. "This is going to take some research and experiments! Oh this is so exciting we should tell everyone!"

"What- No. Coran, we shouldn't tell anyone else."

"Why not?"

"Because. This- magic stuff is just another permanent reminder of Allura. Just like the markings she left behind. Just like me." Lance says. "Everyone else has moved to a better mind space. Where the grief doesn't weigh them down anymore. I'm not going to ruin that for them. I'm not going to drag them down too where I have been stuck all this time."

"Lance.." Coran goes to say.

"You're kidding right?" Lance and Coran turn to see Keith walking in.

"Keith! How long have you been there??"

"Long enough." Keith says simply. "You have Altean magic and you weren't going to tell us? Because of what? You don't want to make us sad about Allura?"

"Well- I uh.." Lance looked down feeling ashamed. He had no defense, he knew his actions didn't make sense.

"Lance, we're your family. You know that."

"Of course I know that.. I just-" He's cut off mid thought when he feels Keith's hand on his shoulder. He looks up, meeting his gaze.

"Which means we're here for you." Keith says "Whether you like it or not."
