Tobias POV

I look at Tris. She's losing too much blood. If I carry her there, she could bleed out, and if I call the infirmary, they won't get here before she bleeds out. I can't take off my belt because I can't run when my pants are at my knees... So I act on the last option to save her, I take off my shirt, rip off a piece of fabric, and tie it just above the wound. When I pull it tight, I hear her shriek. I rip off another strip of fabric and tie it on top of the wound. When I pull it tight again she shrieks and it breaks my heart knowing I'm causing her pain. When I'm done, my shirt or at least what is left of it is shorter than a crop top, so putting it on is barely an option. I pick Tris up off of the ground and run to the infirmary as fast as I can without falling over the cracks or twisting my ankle in a pothole. I see the rough rock walls rushing by. I'm running through a long hallway when I hear another gunshot behind me. I feel no pain, but when I hear Tris cry out in pain I know it hit her. When I look down I see another bullet lodged in her flesh, blood pouring out of the fresh wound. I run even harder and when I finally run at full speed into the infirmary I don't need to yell for help because the first person who sees me yells at the top of her lungs for a stretcher. "Here, you can lay her down," a nurse says with a rushed tone. Before I know it they roll the stretcher through a door and she's out of my sight. I try to go after her but I'm stopped by another nurse

"What is your relation to her sir?" she asks

"I'm her boyfriend" I answer with a shakey voice, "Is she going to be okay?"

"We don't know yet sir I'll let you know as soon as possible," she says and runs through the doors they rolled Tris through. I walk to the closest chair and sit down. This can't be happening. Why her? I sit with my hands in my hair worried sick. I don't have to wait long though, no longer than fifteen minutes I sit there, although it feels like an hour. The doors slam open and in that moment I wished for nothing more than that I could take her place, take her pain away, but I can't and just knowing that burns a hole in my heart.

Marlene POV

"We got a double GSW!" I hear another nurse yell. I have no clue what a GSW could be but it must be bad. I may work here but I still don't know many terms they use here in the ER. I see another nurse standing against a wall. I walk up to him, "What is a GSW?"

"You sure you work here?" he asks scoffing, "Oh yeah right you're an initiate!"

"Yes I was an initiate this year" I put the emphasis on 'was'

"A GSW is a gunshot wound by the way," he says casually before walking away "She had a double so two gunshot wounds" he yells to me over his shoulder

"Who is she?" I ask. And just before he turns the corner I hear him say "Tris Prior"

I run to the trauma room they've rolled her into just to see that the nurses are only trying to stabilize her, weird I've never seen them only trying to stabilize, it must be bad.

"Oh, you're Marlene right?" I am approached by a nurse "Can you tell Four Eaton that we need to transfer her to Eriudite? He should be in the waiting room. If you are fast he maybe can come with us in the ambulance, we should be leaving in five minutes though"

I bearly hear the last part due to already running off, to warn Four, because one thing I know about Tris is that she would want him to be there. So I run, I run till my lungs burn, just when I slam open the doors to the waiting area I hear a bloodcurdling scream, but not just any scream, Tris' scream. I see Four sitting there with tears in his eyes, the legendary Four has tears in his eyes. It are the moments like these that I'm asking myself what do I know about love? Cause it can make the strongest people weak and the weakest people strong. Love is strange but if you would ask me one thing about their love, I would tell you that their love is meant to last.

Tris POV

I was shot multiple times. Tobias carried me to the infirmary, everything went so fast, I heard Tobias' voice at some point and sirens that told me we were on the move to another faction. Then everything went black.

I blink a few times so my eyes adjust to the bright light above me. I look to the side to see Tobias sitting in a chair beside the bed I'm lying in. He looks worried yet relieved, I see a little tear forming in the corner of his eye. He couldn't be that worried about me, right? There's a soft but loud knock on the door as a nurse lets herself in. She's pretty and she looks an awful lot like Will, weird. "So you're Beatrice right?"
"I go by Tris" I answer with a hoarse voice.
"Sorry, Tris, I'm Cara. So you know what happened?"
"I was shot" I answer so dryly that Cara bursts into laughing.
When she's calmed down a little she says; "Yes you were shot, do you know where?"
"Well apart from the searing pain in my left ankle and left calf I think in my right arm," I say sarcastically.
She laughs once again and feels the need to express verbally that I'm apparently very funny. There's again a knock on the door, this time it's open though and when I look at the door I see him. Although we had an un pleasantly phonecall he still showed up.
"Caleb" I hear myself say.
