Chapter 20 - Candor or Dauntless

Tris Pov

"Tris Candor or Dauntless?" Zeke asks me.

"Well, I'm dauntless aren't I?" I answer

"Alright, I dare you to...." He says with a smug grin on his face "Tell us how far you and Four have gone, I mean judging from what I walked in on this morning...." He trails off at the end of his sentence. I feel my face heat up like a fireball, why did he need to ask me this in Christina's presence, she's gonna ask me now and bug me about it until I answer. I look at Tobias who looks very uncomfortable about the question and I raise my eyebrows a little in a way of asking 'Should I answer' he smirks and shakes his head no, it's so subtle that it's not noticeable except for me. So I take off my panty sticking my tongue out at Zeke. That is one layer down. Four layers left. I hope I won't get any hard dares or other awkward questions or something.

A few dares go by including Uriah running around the pit in swimming trunks, a bra, and a hairband with a unicorn horn and ears, while he's yelling "I am the mighty Uricorn, fear me!" and Marlene showing her fear landscape, which consisted of 16 fears including; the dark, helium, those balloons twisted into animals coming to life, Uriah breaking up with her, and eleven other fears.

"Christina C or D" Uriah asks her after a few rounds. 

"D" she simply answers.

"She wants the D!" Uriah yells getting smacked in the face with a pillow by Lynn.
"Owwww, woman how do you make a pillow hurt?" he asks with a pained look on his face. Lynn looks at him triumphantly, "Because of my incapable strength" she says proudly.

"Well Chris, I dare you to eat amity bread and spill a vial of peace serum on the ground by an apple tree and a vial of truth serum on the ground by the tomatoes," Uriah says evilly. "Well come on what are we waiting for? Let's get to Amity!" Christina yells trying to sound excited. Though I can see that she's trying to hide the fact that she is almost shitting her pants in fear of getting caught.

We sit on the train towards amity 

"Hey, it's time to jump," Tobias says to me nudging me to get my attention. We jump together and after a few steps we regain our balance, we walk the last bit to amity and go straight to the big glass dome where the cafeteria must be. We walk in and go to the lady at the counter. 

"Can I have a slice of bread please?" Christina asks politely.

"Uhm, I don't know..." the lady says

"Awww, please, I love bread." Christina pleads

"Alright, here you go dear. Tell nobody I gave you that alright?"

"Of course not, you're the nicest woman I've seen all day!" Christina exclaims enthusiastically.

She eats the slice of bread and after a minute she gets all giggly and even more girly and jumpy than normal. We take her to the orchard full of apple trees. We hand her the vial of peace serum and she jumps around like a fairy and sprinkles it all around a tree. When the vial is empty she skips towards the tomatoes and Uriah hands her the vial of truth serum. This time she doesn't dump it on one plant but she sprinkles it all over the whole tomato field. Shit, next week the tomatoes are ripe and there is pizza and pasta on the menu for the whole week in Dauntless. Well played Uri, well played. Next week everyone will be all droopy and high on truth serum for the whole week probably.

We get back on the train and jump on. Except for Chris, Will has to piggyback her and she hangs on for dear life with one hand... I don't know how much longer that would've gone well but luckily they got on the train safe and sound.

Chris comes skipping towards me and says something to me I can't really understand. So I open my mouth to ask what she says and she stuffs a slice of bread in my mouth and she holds my mouth shut so I have to eat it. Shit, this isn't gonna go well. Here goes nothing...

Tobias Pov

I see Christina stuffing two whole slices of bread in Tris' mouth and keeping her mouth shut so she has to eat them, great... I stand on the other side of the train car so I am too late to do something about it. After a minute or two she gets worse than Christina. Tris is smaller and got a higher dose, oh no. That isn't going to go very well. When it's time to jump onto the roof I lift Tris so she can't fall. I re-position her so her back is against my chest when we jump. When we land on the net she giggles and laughs and is all giddy, she gets worse by the minute. I jump out of the net and then lift Tris back into my arms and carry her to Zeke's apartment for one last dare.

"Alrighty whose turn is it?" Shauna says excitedly.

"Mine, mine, mine!" Uriah says like a five-year-old while Zeke shoots him the 'you better don't mess this up look'.

"Okay Shauna, we know you're not a pansycake so I will choose dare for you," Uriah says as some all-knowing storyteller. Shauna gives him a puzzled look and Zeke manages to get behind Shauna.

"Well Shauna, I dare you to marry Zeke" Uriah says, and you can hear a pin drop. She turns around and tears immediately stream down her face, Tris giggles and claps like a toddler. If she keeps getting worse I don't know at which point she will forget how to talk and walk.

I hear Zeke say his nervous speech thingy, "Shauna, I had a crush on you for years before we dated and I tried to cover it up by dating countless other girls until I got the guts to ask the girl, the perfect girl, my girl. Shauna, I love you with all that I am, maybe even more than dauntless cake. Will you marry me?" At the end they both have tears rolling down their cheeks.

"That was so cheesy but so cute," Shauna says with tears streaming down her face 

"So?" Zeke asks nervously.

"Yes, of course, yes, you idiot!" She exclaims. She kisses Zeke and they don't break away for breaths instead Zeke picks up Shauna and carries her to the bedroom. I take that as our turn to leave. I pick up Tris and say goodbye to everyone. They all look sad that she's too high to even know her own name so I can't give her the promise ring.

I carry Tris through the hallways to our apartment, hopefully, she's not high or at least less high after a good night's sleep. When we get to our apartment I set her down I have to hold her to my side with one arm to keep her from jumping up and down the hallway like a bunny. When I open the door she gets inside and moves behind the door. I step inside and she closes the door, pins me to the wall, and kisses me forcefully. After a few seconds, she pulls back and skips away making sure to sway her hips a little if that's even possible when skipping. She's such a tease, even when she's high. I go into the kitchen, get myself a glass of water, and gulp it down. When I put the glass in the sink I hear a thud coming from inside the bathroom.

In panic, I rush into the bathroom afraid that Tris is seriously hurt. I open the door which is surprisingly unlocked and see Tris sitting on her but laughing. From the looks of it, she took a quick shower and didn't wash her hair. Now she's sitting on her but in her underwear and one of my t-shirts that are way too big on her to even call oversized. She's practically drowning in my shirt, so I pick her up, carry her to the bed, and lay her down. I go back into the bathroom, clean up the water she slipped on, change into sweatpants, and slide into the bed next to Tris. When I do she clings to me like a koala and I don't complain, I like having her close that way I know that nothing can happen to her, I wrap her in my arms and I drift off to sleep.

I've been rewriting the next chapters, I just couldn't decide how I wanted the story to unfold, I think I do now but I'm not sure yet. So my apologies if you are waiting a little long on a chapter but it's for the good of the story guys! Don't kill me yet!
