Damsels in Divorce (Part Two): Courtney POV

I lay there on the beach, with the sand stained red with my blood. I cried as my entire body ached in pain. I think something is broken. But I know I'm scarred, both physically and mentally. what josé did, was abuse. and he said things to me that you should never say to a women. plus he spit and stomped on me. what did I ever see in him?
then I heard Bridgette's voice screaming "Courtney!" as she ran to me. "Oh my god" she whimpered as she saw me and cupped her mouth. she started to help me up when I yelped in pain. yep, something's broken. bridgette then started bawling and brought out her phone and started dialing. "hello? yeah my friend Courtney is laying here bleeding and half naked and she can't get up. I have no idea what happened." I heard bridgette cry into the phone, and that was the last thing I remember before falling asleep.

my eyes fluttered open to a bright white ceiling and the sounds of machines and heartbeat signals. I looked to my side to see various machines hooked up to various parts of my body. I then looked down into the covers to find a huge wrap around my stomach. I tried to unwrap it to see, but it was too tight. the door in front of me then creaked open and I saw Bridgette and Geoff with flowers and balloons and the next thing I know Bridgette is on top of me crying. "I'm so happy you're okay" she cried into my chest "hey bridge" I said petting her hair. she got off me and Geoff came over with the balloons and hugged me as well. we all talked about what happened and what would happen to Jose. the doctor then came in to lead them out. another person then came in. it was Tyler with flowers as well. "hey court" he said smiling, sitting at the end of my bed. "Tyler, I'm so sorry. I put you through all this trouble an-" I bubbled out when he stopped me saying "don't worry about it" I then started crying and reached out to hug me. we just lay there hugging until he had to leave. "love you." he said getting up. "love you too" I said waving. then, my last guest came in. it was Duncan. "hey princess" he said, also bringing flowers. "hey ogre" I said punching him. we sat there in silence as we stared at my oxygen machine. "i still love you courtney" he then bursted out. as soon as he said that, the doctor then came in to lead him out, and I never got to say "I love you" back.
