A rumour had spread around the camp about a boy who defeated a Minotaur just like you, but more one on one combat. Annabeth had been going about how the new kid could be the one who would go on a quest, you loved how excited she got and had to admit it did seem quite promising considering the rumours.
"Ok Beth, try not to be so excited. It may not even be him!" You spoke while both of you headed towards the cabins. "Come on Y/nnn, you have to atleast admit it could be" She wined, "Maybe but don't get your hopes too high" You replied "Anyway I'm going to see Luke, I'll train with you later".
Both of you separated as you headed to Hermes cabin, everyone was lively and chatting. "Lukee" You said in a sing-song voice, The boys head quickly chirped up at the mention of his name. His eyes landed on you and a smile spread across his face, "Y/n/n, I haven't seen you in ages" He beamed while patting the bed that was next to him. You immediately sat down at the bottom facing him.
"Have you heard about the new kid?" He asked as you were swinging your legs over the side of the bed, "Mhm, Annabeth is very excited about this one" You replied. "He might even beat your aim, sounds like he could" he smirked as you let out a gasp, "Maybe they'll be a much better fighter" You shot back.
Luke's group came over and started conversation as you talked abit but mostly stayed silent listening to what they say. His group wasn't exactly the closet with you but you didn't mind since it was only really Luke you cared about.
Mr Brunner was now at the door with a curly haired blond, "Everyone,Everyone" He announced, "Your attention please, this is Percy Jackson" He introduced as the boy beside him looked very nervous. "I trust you will see to whatever he needs" He finished and everyone immediately went back to what they were doing.
Sir quickly left after that, leaving the boy to settle in. Everyone looked at him as he walked to his stuff on the floor, Luke and you both shared a look knowing you should introduce yourselfs and started to walk up to him.
The boy noticed both of you approaching, "Look if you wanna give me a hard time, just do it tomorrow." He sighed. "I can't do anymore today", your eyes widened at this. How much had this boy been through?
Luke spoke up, "Heard what happened on the hill, and I just wanted to say I'm really sorry" he said it with the most sincerity you've ever seen him have. "It sounds like you've been through enough at the moment" you added "I'm Y/n" putting your hand out for him to shake. He gladly took it, "Percy" he mumbled. "This is Luke", You gestures to the boy next to you.
"Trust me, Luke's harmless if you get to know him", You teased while winking at Percy. Luke playfully shoved you while grinning. "Don't listen to her. Anyway how about we show you around tomorrow?" Luke suggested. Percy nodded as you three headed to the door.
