Inside was so much bigger than you expected, there was practically every game you could think of as well as tons of people scattered around. You eyes scanned over the room in search for a certain god, but it would be almost impossible with the crowds.
"I know we're supposed to be saving the world, but would it be unprofessional if we just hung out here for a bit?" Percy asked while looking at his surroundings in awe, "We find Hermes, we get him to hook us up with a ride to Los Angeles and a plan to get into the Underworld, and we are out of here ten seconds later" Annabeth explained. "I was kidding" Percy mumbled, "Wait hang on" Grover spoke up.
"What?" You replied, "Your mum told you all the stories. Did she read you the Odyssey?" Grover questioned. "The graphic novel" Percy answered, you sent him a look as he turned to you. "It counts" He stated, "Odysseus lands on a beach. There's these guys who've forgotten where they came from, forgot everything that was important to them, they got that way because they ate-" Grover started before getting cut off. "The lotus flowers" Percy added while looking round.
"If we go in there and then forget everything, that would be bad on a number of levels" Grover stammered, "But we need to find Hermes" You insisted. "What do you think, Wise girl?" Percy questioned towards Annabeth, you felt the same sick feeling in your stomach at the nickname. "Just don't eat anything." Annabeth warned before walking towards the games.
"Wait, why were you looking at me when you said that?" Grover asked whilst obviously offended, you only chuckled under you breath at his words before following the others. Having to walk past different people of multiple ages, there was something for everyone. "This is a lot bigger than it looked from the outside" Grover commented while glancing around, "He could be anywhere".
"Let's split up" Annabeth spoke, "That doesn't sound like the best plan" You replied. "Also, you guys have seen him before, but I haven't" Percy added, "So I'm not gonna be much help alone". You turned to Annabeth, "I'll go with Percy" You offered while the boy nodded beside you. "No, you and Grover will check that side while I take Percy this way" Annabeth said in an almost snappy way, "One way or the other, we meet back in this lobby in 20 minutes".
You frowned at her sudden tone but ignored it, "Okay, just be careful" You warned before taking Grover's arm and leading him away. The two of you searched through the crowds of different gambling adults, but still no sight of Hermes. Grover suddenly stopped as his gaze was set on another satyr, he quickly waved towards the slightly older satyr.
The man almost sprinted away from the sight of Grover, "Wait!" Grover shouted before dashing after the satyr. "Grover!" You called out while having to try catch up with the boy, "Augustus, wait!" He repeated while still chasing the man. The saytr was now stood with a bag of food like nothing had happened, "Augustus, it's me" Grover panted.
