The beast walked menacingly towards the two of you, Percy quickly pushed you behind him as he slowly walked towards the Chimera. You swiftly pulled out you bow from your bag, your aim now on the monster. "This is the end, sweethearts" Exhidna threatened, "Don't fight it".
"Percy get back now" You warned but the boy still walked closer to it, "You'll just make her angry" The woman stated while eyeing the scene in front of her. Percy and the beast were now a mere metre apart, "Percy plea-" You spoke but a ferocious roar interrupted you. Percy swung at the beast, cutting it's ankle.
Chimera let out a cry before launching him across the room, "Shit, shit!" You exclaimed while walking closer and releasing arrow upon arrow. None them would hit, it's skin was too thick for them to slice through. The monster's attention was now on you, the creature swiped at your figure before catching his claws on the side of your arm. You let out a cry before swinging your dagger in defence, the creature let out a snarl. It's mouth opened increasingly while the sides of it's mouth extended.
The inside of it's mouth glowed, the sides of it's face shaped almost like a snake. The glow increased, your eyes widened at the incoming attack before quickly trying to drag Percy away. Fire quickly spouted out of The Chimera's mouth, it's path aimed at you.
Percy dragged you to the ground before rolling the two of you away from the yellow flames, both of you crawled to flee the creature but Echidna had other plans. The floor infront of you had vanished, in its place was a massive hole leading down to a 360 foot drop. The sound of wind whooshing and the growling behind you filled your ears, your mind racing to find a way out.
Your thinking was interrupted by a shaking figure disappearing from your view, Percy was stumbling towards the creature in an almost fighting stance. His eyes fixated on the beast infront of him, the monster swung at him but luckily he managed to duck in time. You took the time to swiftly charge at the Chimera, your dagger headed straight for it's eye while Percy went to slice its head.
The creature efficiently deflected both attacks by smashing the two of you with its head, both of you bashed against the wall before rolling down into the hole. Your hands quickly gripped onto the bar, Percy had done the same thing next to you. Both of you let out grunts of struggle while dangling over the ground that was 360 feet away.
Your heart was pounding as your stomach felt sick, there was no way to get out of this. Both of you were going to plummet to your deaths, all because of the stupid head you shipped, all because Athena was embarrassed.
Both Echidna and the Chimera stood over you, "So unfair, you never had a chance, did you?" The woman taunted while glaring down at the two of you. "If only someone cared enough to provide you with one." She added while still smiling at your squirming figures. Percy soon let out a cry while one of his hands slipped, you panicked before trying to reach out for the boy.
