Clarke's POV
The summer ball always causes a big stir at Camp Jaha and this year is no different. Mor importantly for the counselors and older campers, its also the only day they get a decent lay in. My alarm starts ringing at around 9.30am. Reluctantly, I drag myself out of bed and get dressed. I skip breakfast and head straight for the big house (which is where Mr Jaha and the admin things stay) to grab the keys for the camp quad bikes and minibus. Wind blows through my hair as I drive to the storage cabin. Bellamy is already there unloading decorations and tables.
"Morning babe", he greets.
" Babe! I think I prefer princess", I scoff.
"Fine. Good morning princess".
"Much better. Ready for tonight?" I reply with a kiss.
"Yep. After the decorations we have-"
"-To get the food. I know I have the keys", I cut Bellamy off.
"Finishing each others sentences. Could we get any cuter?" He teases. I laugh, but then huff as I lift a table into the trailer.
Bellamy rides in the back and holds the stuff whilst I drive. The other counselors have gathered every camper outside the dinner hall. We park the bike as everyone starts to unload and start decorating.
"Be back by 3pm you two. Chef wants time to cook the food and don't forget the cake. Oh and dont go over budget", instructs counselor Kane. Bellamy and I nod, then practically run to the van. A day alone together. I couldn't wait.
Bellamy pulls into a parking space at the supermarket and we both jump out. As we enter the shop, he takes my hand in his.
"Has anyone ever told you you have abnormally small hands?" He remarks.
"Ah! You only say that because your hands are yeti hands!" I retort.
Instead of getting mad or upset, Bellamy laughs it off and so do I.
"So what are you doing to prepare for the ball tonight?" He asks.
"Me, Raven and your sister are getting ready in my cabin. Then Miller is picking us up in the golf cart and taking of us to the hall". A long silence follows, but its not awkward. We start to choose foods from the list Kane gave us and placing them in the trolley.
Then Bellamy reignites the talking, "Did you know we've been dating for two whole weeks".
"Serious. Wow", there is more surprise in my tone than I intended.
"Does that surprise you Princess?" Bellamy asks.
"No, I just thought it had been longer. Guess time flies by when your having fun". We reach the checkout and pay, before heading back to camp. Bellamy turns up the music on capital one and we both start rocking out in the front. Unfortunately, I can't party too hard because I have a huge cake on my lap.
Bellamy glides into camp and quickly parks. A barrage of children opens the back of the minibus and start unloading. Chef gives us a grateful nod. Bellamy and I are whisked away by our respective friendship groups. An hour later, Millers beeps the carts horn signalling us outside. Octavia and Raven battle it out for the front- a fight which Raven wins. Octavia slumps into the back with me.
"Thanks for this Miller. We didn't want our dresses getting muddy before the party", I shout over the engine.
"No problem girls. Ravens my dad anyway so...", he replies.
Its a short ride back to the dinner hall, but the mud on the path would have caked our dresses. The campers have done a great job decorating. Fairy lights are strung up in the rafters and metallic blue and silver balloons cover the floor and the steps up to the hall are covered in petals. The party is already in full swing and the DJ is playing some great tunes. All the boys are huddled in the corner where our booth would be, so we rush over to them. We exchange greetings then start dancing the night away. At around 10, the younger kids start leaving and the DJ slows the music down considerably. The night has gone so well and I'm really happy. Around 60 people are still milling around including all of the older kids. The girls and I are having drinks when Bellamy pulls me away.
"May I have the dance, Princess?" Before I answer, Bellamy pulls me to his chest and we start dancing.
"Bellamy, this is dangerous. People can see us", I say.
"Why? Its just one friend dancing with another", I stifle a laugh then stare at how smart Bellamy is. The song ends and we are still looking into each others eyes.
"Bell, what are you staring at?"
"I've changed my mind. I don't want to have to check over my shoulder everytime I want to see just in case someone is watching. I want the world to know that I love you Clarke". In an unexpected turn of events, Bellamy dips me and kisses me in front of everyone. But I don't pull away. I want everyone to know that I love Bellamy. I feel everyones eyes glaring at us, but I dont stop.
Well, not until Octavia screams " I KNEW IT!!!!" We stop kissing and start running from the incoming crowd.Hello Wattpad!! Loved writing this chapter. Hope you enjoy it too. Thanks for 10k reads on my old story and nearly 1k on this one. Love you chummies!!
