Bellamy's POV
I watch as small dotted lights come on one by one all around camp. I never thought such a small; such a man made thing could be so beautiful. But it's like the night sky has been mirrored in earth. There are only a few things that I can think of that match the beauty of this sight. Firstly, Octavia. Secondly, the sunset that Clarke and I are going to watch and lastly, Clarke herself. The way her big blue eyes just stare right through you is... Wow.
A quiet rustling averts my attention from the cabins across the lake. Behind me, Clarke stands in jeans and her counselors T-shirt. After looking me up and down, her jaw drops.
"Oh, god I am so underdressed".
"No I only wore a suit to look good for you. But I like this attire. Its you", I say with a smile. Princess grins back and sits on the blanket beside me. With one glance across the lake, I see her eyes light up like mine did. We both intently stare at the calm water and the twinkling lights, neither of us daring to break the silence."So, why exactly am I out here Mr. Blake?" Clarke says.
"I asked you out here, Ms. Griffin, to watch the sunset and eat. Count it as a first date", I remark.
"I like the sound of that. What happens afterwards?" She presses.
"I walk you back to your cabin and then leave you another note of our next meeting". Clarke takes a while to process my proposal, the nods.
"How long are we going to hide this from everyone? I want to tell people eventually and it doesn't feel right keeping it from O".
"We'll tell them soon enough, princess, just not straight away", I answer.Although not completely content with my answer, Clarke stops and rests her head on my shoulder. It may sound selfish, but I don't want anyone else to know not even Octavia. Even though we tell each other everything, I want to spare myself from all the 'have you kissed yet?' and 'do you love her?'. I've had so many relationships torn apart by overbearing questions and I want this thing with Clarke to work. So I'm going to hide this for as long as I can.
Up in the sky, the huge orange sun finally starts to set. As it slowly starts to dip below the hills we both sit up to get a better view.
Clarke and I inhale a collective breath as we marvel at the power and beauty of human nature. But I'm not talking or watching the sun. Instead my eyes are fixated on Clarke. Her smile lights up the dark forest behind her.
"Isn't that the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?" Clarke stutters.
"Not even close". She whips round and looks straight at me. My heart races and our lips collide. My hands move to her hips and hers run through my hair. Clarke is the first to pull away.
"The old Bellamy would never pay me compliments. Who are you and what have you done with the real Bellamy Blake?" She teases.
"The old Bellamy was eaten by this brand new, smitten version". For minutes we sit and giggle until I can barely breath and tears stream down my face.
"I love you Princess", I utter between gasps.
"I live you too, Bell", She replies. We resume our past position with Clarke's head leaning awkwardly on my shoulder. The lake ebbs against the rocks and for a while that's all we can hear. Then an ear piercing whistles slices through the silence. "Oh god, is it lights out already?!" Clarke moans. I bundle together the blanket and stand up.
"C'mon let's head back before we're spotted. I'll leave you a note tomorrow- on your bed", I state. We quickly kiss and rush back to our cabins for the night. Thankfully, the other counselors are too busy checking the kids cabins or are already in bed, so we aren't seen.
Before entering my cabin, we share a quick kiss and I whisper
"Til tomorrow my princess". Then I flop onto my bed and strip down to my boxers with the happy events of tonight still fresh in my mind.
