Clarke's POV

The next morning, a smile is still plastered across my face. Still in my pyjamas, I trudge down to the dinner hall for breakfast. 70 hungry, tired teenagers all slump around rectangular tables waiting for their breakfast. The enticing scent of bacon and eggs fills the hall making everyone all the more ravenous. Octavia waves like a maniac and points to a seat next to her. Everyone starts chatting making it hard to hear but then Octavia puts me on the spot.

"Where were you and Bellamy last night, you missed dinner?" She asks.

My eyes grow wide and the words get stuck in my throat.

"A little girl got home sick so we stayed with her", Bellamy's deep voice saves me.

"Yes that's what happened, yeah", I say over enthusiastically.

"Didn't wanna get dressed this morning, princess?" I smile and feel the urge to hug him, but I can't. But my answer is drowned out by the campers screaming and cheering when the first waiter walks through the kitchen door.

Once breakfast was finished I go and get dressed for today's activities which include kayaking and the high ropes course. Taking this- and the fact that its a sunny day-into account, I put on a bikini underneath with shorts and T-shirt over it. I jog over to the counselors cabin to pick up the registers, whistle and 2 large life jackets.

"Good morning Counselor Clarke", Mr Jaha greets.

"Morning sir". I'm about to walk away when something crosses my mind.

"Sir, are there any rules against counselors dating?" I ask, hoping that I haven't made it too obvious.

"No, I don't think so. Which reminds there's a counselors campfire tonight in the courtyard". I breath a huge sigh of relief. Maybe Bell and I won't have to hide this relationship for much longer.

"Thank you, see you tonight". I leave Mr. Jaha behind and jog to the lake hut. Bellamy is already there lifting out the kayaks. We harmoniously work together and lift the kayaks out if the and onto the beach. Because some of the campers are already here, we keep our interactions to a minimum.

It isn't until we are on the high ropes course with Kane that we get some time alone. After the last kid had zipped down to Kane, Bellamy pulls me into a hug.

"Hey princess", he whispers.

"Hey, Bell. I talked to Jaha and he said there weren't any rules against counselors dating. We can tell people", I tell him.

But instead of excitement, Bellamy looks torn.

"That's great but... I like this being our thing. And everyone will ask all of the stupid questions and I love being mysterious", he pleads. I would live to tell everyone just to see the look on their faces, but Bellamy is right. This should be our secret.

"Okay", I say. I clip my harness to the zip line. Bellamy pulls me closer and kisses me, but then shoves me off the platform. I may not see it, but I feel him smiling as I scream all the way down. Kane gives me a funny look when I land, but I turn and walk away.

Bellamy is the last one to firmly plant his feet on the ground. Me, Kane and Bell all lead the kids on the hike back to camp where dinner awaits. Kane and most of the campers are up ahead talking about some kind of tree, whereas Bellamy and I hang back.

"Bell I forgot to say that tonight there is a counselors campfire", I tell him, He nods in reply.

"Okay we'll have to meet before. When you get back, go and change and meet me by the lake again", he instructs.

"What about dinner?"

"I'll grab it from the dinner hall, but hurry".

For the rest of the walk, we don't say a word. And even when we reach camp, we go our separate ways without so much as a goodbye. Just as Bellamy said, I change into clothes that don't smell of lake and sweat, choosing a nicer outfit as Bellamy did yesterday. Unexpectedly, there is a light knock on the door. Pulling it ajar, Octavia stands on the other side beaming back at me.

"Hey, O. What's up?"

"I thought we could walk to the dinner hall together. Y'know catch up and stuff", she replies. Oh god dammit! Octavia is going to know something is up if I just walk in the complete opposite direction on the way to the dinner hall.

"Yeah, sounds great". No, No! I was supposed to say I had plans.

Reluctantly, I walk with Octavia and listen to her explain how she met this cute boy in summer but they are very different so BLAH-de-Blah. I longingly gaze at towards the lake, willing for Bellamy to come and save me again. Alas, I have no such luck.

As I step into the dining hall, an idea comes to mind.

"O, sorry I really need the toilet. Go ahead and I'll catch up". I step into the ladies and wait until I'm sure she's gone. Then I step out and sprint to the lake.

Same as yesterday, a plush blanket sits surrounded by candles with our food sat on top. The only difference is there is no sign of Bellamy. I double over and gasp. Why can't you run faster?! I mentally scream. But his deep familiar voice comes from behind me.

"Well don't you scrub up well".
