Atsumu wasn't sure how much time had passed when he came to. Already, during the treatment of his face, the tiredness had been almost overwhelming, despite the pain.

They had stopped the bleeding with sutures and medical glue. The knife had left a large cut from his right cheek over the bridge of his nose to his left brow. Luckily his eyes weren't damaged in the process and the section on his nose was more superficial, making medical glue sufficient as treatment. The other sections however had to be stitched back together.

Facial wounds bleed a lot, they explained, so while they should heal just fine the amount of blood he had lost wasn't surprising and he had to have been given fluid to make up for the loss. Aside from that he was being treated for mild hypothermia which hardly came as a shock to him after walking barefoot through the night in October.
On a more positive note, the pain meds were definitely working.

He was glad that a milder painkiller had been sufficient. The last thing he needed was for his senses to be all messed up after he was just done confirming that he hadn't been imagining things.

He sat up with a grown and looked around. There was no block in sight, not that it would have helped much considering he had no idea when he arrived at the police station or what time it had been when Haru had poked him with the knife in his back and demanded he follow her commands.

Gods... that all sounded insane. He almost laughed, maybe his sanity did take a hit after all, but even the twitch of his lips pulled painfully at the stitches.

He let his eyes roam the room once more noticing with a mix of relief and horror that he was alone. He hated being alone. Now and probably for the rest of his life. He would cling to his boyfriends till the day he died once he'd come home. They'd have to be pried from his cold dead hands. Never would he ever be so foolish again as he was today.

Fuck... He needed to get back to them. And he needed to know how Suna was doing.

It slowly came back to him, how pale he looked in the ambulance. He wasn't even sure how he got injured let alone how severe the injury was.

Surely it couldn't have been the shock. Not with Suna.
He himself felt oddly calm right now although the panic waited just at the edge of his conscious mind, he was certain of it. Perhaps it was the medication, perhaps he had surpassed a mental threshold of things he could endure. He didn't care.

He was beyond caring at this point as the events of the past week and today, in particular, were thrown around and mixed up in his brain over and over again. He felt sick and yet numb.

His eyes started to the call button and for a moment, he still wondered if this was what they were meant for before he pressed it.

A few minutes later a nurse arrived, a police officer in toe. That was to be expected.
Atsumu observed them calmly as they approached him. They weren't Haru, he reminded himself and listened for their footsteps automatically to confirm.

"Good evening, my name is Saito. Is anything amiss?" the nurse asked him.

He shook his head slowly. Processing spoken words was still a bit challenging but his brain started to catch up.

"On a scale of one to ten, one being a simple bruise and ten the worst pain you have experienced so far or can imagine where would you rate your pain? Feel free to elaborate if necessary."
