Komori felt his heart pounding in his chest, his hand clutched tightly around Osamu's wrist as he pulled him back to the car.
The younger Miya was trembling, still shaken up about the whole event. He glanced back to his brother over and over again until the door to the passenger side closed and they were out of sight.
He let out a long shaky breath and partially collapsed in on himself. The stray tears ran down his cheeks silently this time and less frequent.
At the next red light Komori paused before reaching out to wipe one away gently.
"He is alive. Those letters... they weren't his.""We don't know that for sure...," Osamu protested weakly.
"Yes, we do."
He turned his attention back to the road and straightened his back.
"The way he acted, his injury, what he said and the police officers... It wouldn't make sense if that really had been his intention." The libero gently corrected him.
"And Rin... How would he get injured so badly that he would have to stay in the hospital if he just prevented him to jump? Why wouldn't they have just stayed at the bridge and waited for us?"Osamu didn't reply, his gaze was focused on the passing city outside window.
"Samu? It'll be okay. He'll be fine."
The taller gave him a small nod, coaxing a smile from the libero as relief settled around his heart.
It didn't last. As they arrived at the hospital he felt anxiety over take him once more and held onto Osamu's hand tightly as they rushed inside.
A nurse pointed them to Suna's room and they quickly followed his instructions.
It took Komori's breath away when they finally saw him. He was still unconscious, a little pale but not much more than usual. The libero pushed one of the chairs to his bedside, sat down and took his hand.
Osamu stood next to him and put an arm around him.
"They'll be alright." His voice was thin as if still trying to convince himself but Komori nodded shakily and gave him a small smile.----
By the time Doctor Suzuki entered the room and introduced themselves Komori had to be woken up from a restless slumber he had fallen into. Osamu chuckled slightly at the sight of his sleepy boyfriend.
"I'm sorry, it's been a long night," he explained to the surgeon. The doctor smiled compassionately and nodded.
"I can imagine.""Hm... No, sorry. I'm awake. What... What happened to Sunarin?" Komori mumbled, quickly growing more alert.
"The surgery went well. He had a stab wound in his side but the object luckily missed any vital organs. The bleeding both internal and external could be stopped without further complications."
"Stab wound...!?"
Komori looked at them in disbelief and Osamu tightened his grips around his shoulder, his expression darkened."They were attacked!?"
"That's what the police suspected and Miya-san confirmed but for details I'm afraid you'll have to ask them yourself once their condition has improved."
Osamu nodded slowly.
"Thank you... for everything."They smiled once more, gave a last nod and left.
Osamu noticed Komori shaking in his arms. It was almost ironic how quick their situations had been reversed.
"Their safe now. The police is already involved and we are with them now."The smaller curled up tighter to his side and Osamu began drawing soothing patterns on his arm as they waited for Suna to wake-up.
