"Shinsuke!"
Atsumu didn't hesitate as soon as he was given the okay. He rushed out the door, his panic only subsiding once he saw them unharmed before him. His eyes scanned them for any slices or cuts, any hint they might have made contact with a blade as he did.

Kita's eyes widened as he saw him and only when Atsumu was close to crashing into him did he notice that he was crying. His heart broke. Kita almost never cried. What had happened!?

Immediately he cupped his cheeks and wiped the tears away gently. Kita's mouth opened and closed as though he wanted to say something but couldn't. New worry spread within Atsumu as he couldn't quite place what was wrong with him.
"Shin, are you okay? What is going on?"

"Y-you–" the other tried but failed.
His words were choked by tears making Atsumu's heart break even further. He had never seen the usually so well-maintained mask and put-together Kita Shinsuke so vulnerable. Even as his partner this was new.
It was as if for the first time his heart was raw out in the open, threatening to fall apart.

"I'm here. I'm right here. Please tell me how I can–"

"Atsumu...?"
Sakusa's voice was utterly too thin, almost thanks and void in the night. Beside him, Aran had frozen completely. The tears adoring his face never stopped. They all looked at him like he had seen a ghost and Atsumu's heart clenched as he understood; Haru's plan aside from his escape had been successful. They all believed he jumped.

Atsumu gulped. He didn't know what to do or how to make them believe him that this wasn't— that he wasn't a Phantom of their imagination when Osamu already moved. Turns out he didn't have to do anything.
"You idiot," his twin cried out. "You goddamn idiot! Never do that again dumbass!"

He pulled Atsumu into his arms and sobbed against his shoulder. Osamu was always the composed one of them but now he fell apart in his arms and Atsumu only scarcely managed to hold his brother up. With everything that had happened, this was the part he didn't even think about. Just the thought of believing Osamu was dead for even a second brought him to the edge of collapse.

"I'm sorry..." the blonde replied weakly. "I was so worried when you all weren't here."
He looked over Osamu's shoulder at the others who still stared at him in disbelief and varying stages of breakdown. He wanted to hold them all close and promise to the heavens and the earth that it would be alright and he wanted to be held by them and be promised the same.

But there was one more thing.

"Samu, listen."

The silver-haired shook his head and pulled him closer, refusing to let go. Atsumu believed he said something but it was too incoherent and muffled by his shirt to understand.

"Samu, please. It's about Rin."

"Rin?" Komori's head perked up. "What about him? Where is he?! Did he find you?"
He fought himself as last his cousin and stared at Atsumu with an intensity he didn't expect from the usually upbeat libero.

"Yes, he found me... He saved me."
He gulped when he thought back on it fighting his own tears and forcing his voice to remain even.
"He got hurt in the process but as far as I know he is stable now. The results weren't too bad but... You should go to the hospital."
