I was just listening to Taylor Swift, as one does, and I'm not even kidding this became my fav song in like 5 secs! I remember listening to it like a few years ago but it just hits different now yk? Enjoy:)
The sharp wind whipped across the top of Beacon Batch. The dogs happily sprinted around, as they normally did, whilst I was freezing and pulling down my beanie further. Stopping at the trig point after spotting a herd of pony's just the other side to not disturb them, a person was approaching the high point. Another gust of wind pushed me forwards a little, making me stumble as I realised my mistake in my choice of clothing. Riding leggings, welly boots, thermal layer, hiking jumper and a green gillet borrowed off my Dad. It was not enough to stay warm.
"Hiya!" I smiled as the person came up to the top of the mound where the trig point was.
"Hey!" The guy smiled back. I couldn't help but look at him a little; tall, gorgeous curly brunette hair, deep cocoa coloured eyes.
"Bit cold today." I squinted at him threw the harsh whip of wind.
"Could say that!" He laughed. I laughed with him, then looked at what he was wearing; those black trousers that racing drivers always seem to where (I've definitely seen Lando Norris wearing them), a black sweatshirt, a North Face down jacket and... trainers.
"You're definitely not from round here, where you from?" I joked, looking him up and down.
"Yea, I regret what I left in... but yea you're right. I'm from Chelmsford." He laughed.
"Oh, you're a London boy?" I smiled at him. I often had conversations with people when I went and walked the dogs but never so flowing with this guy. He nodded.
"A 30 minute away London Boy." He paused from what he was going to say whilst I whistled the dogs back. "Mind me asking your name?"
"Y/n, yourself?" I asked.
"Ollie." I already knew I was going to like Ollie if I ever saw him again.
"You in Somerset long?" Part of me was hoping he would be.
"For Christmas until I head out to Bahrain for work, so a couple months. I guess you're from here?" He asked lightly laughing.
"Yea, Manor farm just over the trees over there." I pointed to a short line of trees sticking out of Roberrow forest. One of the dogs got back over and began barking from the mound that the trig point sat on. "Anyway, better get these 4 back to the farm to move the sheep so hopefully see you again?"
"How about I meet you somewhere round here tomorrow same time?" Ollie offered hopefully.
"Yea! You see that gate over there, by the forest? Meet me there and we can walk the dogs." I nodded over towards the thick mass of fir trees, a small gap where the bridle way and gate was.
"Cool, see you tomorrow! Nice meeting you!"
______ The Next Day... _____________
"Hey Y/n!" Ollie called over from the gate.
"Hii!!" I said as I approached the gate, instead of 4 dogs, 5 this time. One had to go to the vets the previous day. "How are you?"
"Good, cold! You?" He replied cutely. Cutely. Y/n, Stop.
"Yea fine." I smiled.
"Oh my gosh, what did you do to your arms?!" Ollie rushed forwards as I held up my arms to see what he was on about. My sleeves were rolled up and as soon as I looked I realised what he was on about. "You haven't been self harming have you?"
"Do I really look like the type to self harm? But no, I think it's scratches from putting new chicken wire up in the chicken coop." I laughed at his reaction. He still looked skeptical and worried. "I end up getting bumps and bruises so much now I guess I don't even notice!"
"Sorry, I think I overreacted..." I didn't say anything but I thought it was super cute that he was worried. "Anyway, let's go. What are the dogs' names?"
"So the smallest one is Bob, that grey whippet is Flash, that one who looks like a raccoon is Rocket, the lighter brown and white spaniel is Valtteri and the darker brown and white spaniel is Lando." Me and my older brother had named two of the dogs that came from our neighbours litter after two F1 drivers; one Lando, since he came from Somerset, where we were, and Valtteri because he is my brother's favourite driver.
"Oh, you're an F1 fan I guess?" Ollie laughed.
"Yup, you?"
Ollie POV:
"Yes I'm familiar with F1. I've driven an F1 car a couple times actually." I laughed watching her face.
"Wh- n- wait, wait, wait, wait... huh?"
"I'm an F2 driver." I smiled at her pretty face.
"Wow, okay! Anyway, you want to walk down towards the Swan?" She didn't seem to care loads about my career but I liked that a lot. I nodded not really knowing what she meant.
_________ 2 Months Later___________
Me and Y/n met up nearly everyday to walk the dogs. Now, I would drive to the farm where we would meet up and we would head out with the dogs, occasionally not though, up onto the moor and into the forest.
Today, we were walking through the woods and it starting raining heavily. None of us were wearing rain jackets of any sorts, just regular fleeces. Y/n whistled the dogs in.
"Follow, I can get us out the rain for a bit." She jumped over a small ditch and started up a hill toward the saddle of it. Slightly reluctantly I followed, not sure about what we were doing but I trusted her. We went in between two saddles in the hill where foliage and brambles covered the way of any kind of path. We struggled through the foliage until Y/n spoke again.
"Nearly there! Sorry, I didn't realise how over grown it was!" She laughed back at me. Quickly after we got to a cave opening. The dogs had already got there and several were shaking off from the rain.
Y/n POV:
We sat down on a convenient rock near the back. The rain wasn't nice, relaxed pitter patters, but was instead lashing down as me and Ollie sat in comfortable silence. I felt comfortable enough to lay my head on his shoulder which he smiled into, putting an arm round me and rubbing my shoulder with his thumb.
"Uhm, I just want you to know that I love our walks together and I look forward to it everyday." Ollie said braking the silence. That was adorable.
"I love them too! But what's the drop here? You said you 'just want me to know'..." I waited anxiously for an answer. I didn't receive a verbal one but the next thing I knew, Ollie's lips were on mine in a gentle but loving kiss.
"That was the drop." He said quietly. He clearly thought that I didn't love him back so I pulled his head down a little, capturing him in another kiss.
"No it wasn't, that was one of the best things that's ever happened to me." I said honestly. Ollie took my hand in his as I snuggled my head into the crook of his neck.
"How would you feel about being together? You know, boyfriend, girlfriend type thing?" He asked warily
"Of course!" I smiled, but inside I was screaming with happiness.
"I never thought our first kiss would be in a cave..." he laughed lightly.
"Why did you choose me? You could have had a gorgeous model from Monaco but instead you chose a mucky girl from a farm in Somerset? You literally have nearly every girl who likes F2 wrapped around your finger!"
"Because you don't seem to overly care about my career, you don't want me for money, you're independent and intelligent and you wouldn't say it yourself, but you're absolutely gorgeous! Especially when you wear your hair in a messy low bun and wear that black fleece and leggings with your normal muddy boots." He finished describing my current state.
"You are... absolutely adorable and I can't get over it." I laughed after a quick pause. We soon descended into another comfortable silence whilst listening to the lightened, pitter pattering rain.
