Your Dad was a well known WEC driver who was often swarmed by cameras and people. Your two other sisters loved the cameras and would pose for them and happily do interview. However, you did not like all the attention to the point that you stopped coming to his races. The weekends when you did come normally ended in you leaving the paddock amongst a big group of people to hide from media.
At the races you did attend, your eyes had set on an F2 driver, Dennis Hauger. He would come to most WEC races to watch them. Your soul would leave your body every time he would look vaguely in your direction. But he wouldn't notice you. You were the one of the your family who always slipped under the radar.
"Y/n, you ready to go?" Your Dad asked as you pulled on your jumper.
"Do I have to come to race weekends? I mean I love watching you race but... the cameras." You replied. This weekend, both your sisters couldn't make it so your Mother said you had to go.
"Ok, we'll make a deal. You come to this weekend and I won't make you come to anymore race weekends." He compromised. You smiled and nodded.
The two of you left the hotel and got to the track. As you entered the paddock, you were met with clicking of camera making you feel very overwhelmed along with people calling your surname nearly all around you.
"Y/n, honey, head to the garage now quickly and you can get away from the cameras." Your Dad said, gently pushing you in the direction of the garages.
"Ok, if I don't see you before the race, good luck!" And you jogged off down the paddock to the garages. Just before you go in, you were approached by two of your Dad's team's media team.
"Y/n! What are you doing away from your Dad?" One of them asked, you knowing exactly what was about to come.
"Too many cameras." Was all you could get out.
"It would be better for the team media if you stuck with him for photos." The other one said.
"I can't. I would just look scared in the photos." You argued, not wanting to go back to the cameras.
"Seriously, it would really help the team. Let's go." They said, grabbing your wrist and pulling you in the direction of where you came from.
"No. I cant-" you were cut off by a familiar voice to you.
"Hey, don't make her go if she doesn't want to." You spun around to see none other than Dennis Hauger. The media person dropped your wrist and suddenly looked a little sheepish, both of them quickly going away.
"I actually cannot tell you how thankful I am of that... the cameras are just so fucking intrusive." I said to Dennis nervously.
"Don't worry about it. And I know what you mean about the cameras." He smiled. Butterflies filled my stomach. "You're Y/D/N's daughter right?"
"Yea, one of them." You answered. This led into a deep flowing conversation with him about racing and going onto other things as well.
For the whole 6 hour race, you did not leave each others side (except to use the bathroom obviously). In the space of a total of 8 hours, the two of you had more or less become best friends. When your Dad finished first in the race, you were both celebrating together along with the team.
"Y/n! We're gunna leave in 2 minutes!" Your Dad called from across the garage to where you and Dennis were stood.
"So, are you coming to the rest of the races for the season? I think I will..." Dennis asked, running a hand through his hair.
"I wasn't planning on doing so but I think I could be persuaded..." you breathed, smiling. Dennis grinned at you before moving a strand of hair in your face to behind your ear, shooting butterflies into your stomach, over flowing into blushing in your face.
"I hope to see you again then." He said quietly, pressing a gentle kiss to your cheek. You didn't have time to say anything else before he walked away, leaving you stunned and stood in the back corner of the garage.
