Chapter 16: Okay, It Makes Sense Now

I yawned and rubbed my eyes. What time is it? I looked at the clock. Thirty more minutes 'til school...I could sleep more. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the warmth of the sheets and someone's body pressed up against mine...wait...body pressed up against mine? Harry! I fell asleep at his house! My dad must've been worried sick about me! I realized I was still in my regular clothes. I reached into my pocket and retrieved my phone. I dialed my dad's number.

"Hey Chance!" he answered happily. Wasn't he wondering where I was?

"Dad...sorry I didn't get home last night," I apologized quietly.

"You didn't?" he asked. He didn't even notice me gone...

"Well I mean...until later," I covered.

"Oh, that's fine! Enjoy your walk to school!" he hung up. I sighed. Of course he didn't pay any attention to me, that's how it always was. Why did I expect something different. Harry groaned and stretched.

"Everything okay babe?" he asked. Babe. I liked that.

"Yeah, just called my dad to tell him I was alright," I sighed.

"Well that doesn't sound like a happy sigh..." he sat up.

"It's nothing..." I shook my head.

"Baby, it's obviously not nothing. Tell Dr. Styles what's wrong," he made me sit up with him.

"Can I just hug you instead?" I asked, tears pooling my eyes. He nodded and took me in his arms. I shut my eyes as some tears escaped. He rubbed my back soothingly. I sniffed and held him tighter.

"I'm sorry," he whispered.

"But it's not your fault..." I sniffed.

"I don't care who's fault it is, I just want you to be okay," he replied.

"I'm fine now, I'm done crying..." I wiped my tears. I meant it, I was done being sad. Harry made me happy.

"Promise?" he asked.

"Promise," I nodded.

"Alright...well since we're up, let's get ready!" Harry kissed my cheek. Butterflies exploded in my stomach.

"I'm totally running out of clothes to wear!" I sighed rifling through my side of the closet.

"Should we go back to your mom's or dad's to get all of your clothes?" he asked.

"Well my mom usually leaves the house at four to get more beer...so I guess we could stop by then, grab all my stuff and leave..." I shrugged.

"Sounds good," he nodded.

"Gosh, it sounds like I'm moving in..." I giggled a bit.

"Well only partially, you'll still be going to your dad's I'm assuming," he replied.

"Well, I sort of have to. If he finds out I'm staying over at a boy's house, he'll freak!" I replied.

"Ooo rebel!" he teased.

"Well I'm at my dad's this entire week, so I guess we don't really have to worry about the clothes situation too much right now," I shrugged.

"Well we can stop by today after school and then we'll drop your stuff off here and you'll just stay at your dad's," he suggested.

"Alright," I nodded settling on a ripped up 'The Beatles' shirt and a pair of shorts. I began to walk to the bathroom when Harry grabbed my arm.

"Its too late, I've seen you half naked before. What's the difference now? Just change right here," he told me.
