Chapter 5 (I Don't Want My Last Name)

Tzuyu's POV

It's been months since Jungkook last bothered Sana, and if I'm being honest, Sana's friends and my friends became closer because we always work together.

However, since the higher years have their thesis, they're busier than us, so we rarely see each other also.

Sana and Momo asked me to deposit the organization funds to the bank for the upcoming Engineers and Architects Night, so I walked to the nearby bank to deposit them.

While I was on my way back to school, I saw a familiar figure walking across the road.

They were holding each other's hand tightly and the man kissed the woman.

It was Dad... He's cheating on Mom.

I tried not to call him, but called him either way.

"Hey Dad..." I said through the call.

"Hey... Do you need anything?" He asked and while I was watching the man across the road, I immediately knew that was him.

They were saying the same exact words, it is him.

"Are you going home tonight?" I asked.

"Yeah... Maybe a little late... I have a meeting and a party to go to tonight." He said.

"Okay..." I said and hung up as I walked fast back to the university.

While I was on my way inside, I saw the name of my father engraved on one of the walls.

"Chou... I don't want my last name..." I said and walked back to the council office.

Sana was still there with Mina and I offered them a ride home.

They agreed and throughout the drive, I was silent.

"Tzu, are you okay? You're a bit off tonight." Sana said.

"I'm just... Thinking of something..." I said.

"You should take some rest... You'll play a big part tomorrow at the event for the board passers..." Mina said.

I nodded and smiled at them.

Mina and Sana are dorm mates, so the drive will just be one way.

I went home and saw Parker struggling to look at me.

"Parker..." I said.

"Y-yes?" He asked.

"About Dad..." I said.

"I don't know anything..." He said.

"I haven't said anything..." I said.

"I..." He said and sighed.

"What do you know?" I asked.

He shook his head and avoided my gaze.

"I know... He's cheating on mom? And he used you as his driver earlier... That's why I can't call you..." I said.

"I'm sorry..." He said.

"Don't worry... I won't fire you... Go take some rest... You're just doing your job... I understand..." I said.

"Thank you... I'm sorry..." He said.

I nodded and went inside the house. I went straight to Mom and she was already sleeping on her desk.

"Mom... Let's get you to bed..." I whispered.

She didn't even move from her spot, so I just carried her to bed.

Once she was tucked in the blanket, I saw their wedding photo on her side table.

"I'm sorry mom... I won't leave you..." I said and kissed her forehead before going back to my room.

This night is the worst. I don't want my last name... I hate him... How can he cheat on mom? She's perfect, she can do anything...

I finally dozed off to sleep and woke up early in the morning to go to school to help the other officers prepare the awards and certificates.

There was a malfunction on the stage designs, so I was also the one who fixed them.

"You're sweaty..." Sana teased me while giving me a bottle of cold water.

"Still handsome though." I jokingly said.

"You're the only guy who doesn't stink when they are sweaty... In fact... You still smell good..." Sana said.

"Major turn on?" I jokingly asked.

"Chou Tzuyu... You got a big head..." She said and laughed.

After we checked everything, we went back to the office to get ready for the event.

"Tzu! Your phone is ringing!" Mina shouted from the hallways and gave me my phone.
I immediately answered the call from mom and thanked Mina.

"What? Why can't he come?" I asked mom.

"He has a serious hangover... He just got home." She said.

I muted my microphone and punched the air.

"It's not my fault! Why would he drink till morning if he has a schedule like this?!" I angrily whispered before turning my microphone on again.

"Okay... Pack me my badge suit and black turtleneck... Also all of my things in front of my mirror in the bathroom." I said softly making the other officers near me laugh at my sudden change of mood.

"Don't be angry at your dad..." Mom said.

"I'm not angry..." I said.

"Really? Then why did you mute your microphone?" She asked.

"Okay... I am... Just a little..." I said.

"Chewy..." She said.

"Okay... I'll cool my head off... Just be here on time, please..." I said.

"I will be there." She said.

"Thank you, mom... I love you, bye..." I said.

She hung up when I heard her shout at my dad and my shoulders fell once I put my phone in my pocket.

"Tzuyu is a softie when it comes to her mom..." Momo teased me.

"I'm an only son... I must protect my mom at all costs..." I said.

"Is that the reason why you are a gentleman with girls?" Sana asked.

"Mostly... But... My mom is my top priority if I'm not yet married, once I'm married, then they are both on the same level." I said.

"Wow... I want to be your wife..." Changbin teased me.

"Can you be my sugar daddy?" Yeonjun added.
