Chapter Ten- The Gathering

This chapter is deticated to SomeDays and the cat she let me use for my story, Swiftstrike. Thank you SomeDays for giving me a cat to use.

"Wake up Scarpaw, its time for the gathering." Jayfeather called. "Dont want to miss it do you?"

  "Its not like its my first gathering Jayfeather." I moaned as I got up. "But I dont want to miss it so I'll be right there." I yawned and streatched as I walked out to the camp as I heard Bramblestar's voice calling to who was going.

  "Fawnbreeze, Graystripe, Battlepaw, Cinderheart, Duckfern, Bumblestripe, and Dovewing." Bramblestar called out, "You will be going to the gathering tonight. Lets go." He jumped down and led them to the island.

  We crossed the Log bridge and I saw some familiar faces. I saw a friend of mine too. "Swiftstrike!" I called and ran over to my friend. Hows Shadowclan?"

  "Fine. Do you have your medicine cat name yet?" Swiftstrike asked. "oh, and I got an apprentice, she is over there, her name is Moonpaw."

  "Wow, and no I am still Scarpaw. I can't wait till I get my name though." I mewed exitedly. "I better go, Jayfeather will wonder where I went. Bye." I mewed and walked away.

  "See ya." Swiftstrike called after me.

  I walked where the medicine cats were and sat next to Darkpaw. I licked my paws and cleaned myself. I stopped when I herd the gathering begin.

  Mistystar stepped forward, "All is well in Riverclan. We are well fed on our fish. We have two new warriors, Troutbreeze and Streamfoot."

  The crowd of cats called Troutbreeze and Streamfoot's names as the twonew warriors puffed out their chest with pride.

  Mistystar stepped back and Rowanstar took her place. "Shadowclan is well fed as well but Ratscar got hit by a monster." He paused as cats in the crowd gasped to what happened to the Shadowclan deputy, "Our new deputy is Redwillow. We also have a new apprentice, Moonpaw."

  "Redwillow!" The clans mewed to the new deputy. He would make a fine leader. And he would have a cool leader name, Redstar. "Moonpaw." They finnished with the apprentice.

  Onestar stepped forward. "Ashfoot was hit by the same monster. He did not die but in serious condition. He will no longer be deputy. Our new deputy of Windclan is Emberfoot."

  "Emberfoot!" All the cats called to the new deputy. Alot has been going on in the clans latley. I wonder if Bramblestar is going to announce the death of Dustpelt?

  Bramblestar stepped forward taking Onestar's place. "Dustpelt has left us to be with Starclan. He died of greencough and could not get better." He stopped, then continued. "We are well fed and healthy still. Battlepaw and Swiftpaw are our new apprentices."

  "Battlepaw! Swiftpaw!" The clans cheered once again. The leaders talked for a few moments then jumped off the tree. The gathering was over. I said my good byes to Swiftstrike and Darkpaw and left towrd camp, following Bramblestar.

  'What a night' A mewed to myself as i crawled into my nestand slowly fell asleep.
