Chapter eighteen: go or die

"I love you so much." I mewed as Darkflash put his tail over mine and his head was rested on my shoulder. I put my head on his shoulder and started to tear up, "I can't believe this, you get to stay."

The dark pelted cat licked my forehead as he purred, "what about you?" he paused then continued, "what about my clan?"

"Jayfeather said I can't be a full medicine cat if we have kits but we don't need kits right now in life, we are lucky to have each other." I purred, "and you will go tell your clan, we will meet them at the boarder later today. we can bring a few cats, too."

Darkflash nodded, "I know when they do their patrols, we can go then." he stated.

"Hey... Sis," Jayfeather purred from behind me. I turned around and saw him smiling. Fake.

"I'll be right back." I purred to my new mate. He nodded. Jayfeather led me to the medicine cat den and I had him sit down, "what's up?" I mewed to him. He didn't respond. "Jayfeather, you can tell me, I know something is bothering you."

Jayfeather sighed and looked at his paws, "you know about the prophecy right?" I nodded and he continued, "I think he is the one that is going to die. I got a sign from starclan."

I too a few steps back, fear in my eyes, "what, no. No he can't be. Jayfeather... Your lying, your lying Jayfeather!" I whispered and it raised to a yell then to a screech, "your Lying!"

He sighed, "Scarpaw, no I'm not. come on we have to go to the moonstone." he got up and walked past me then stopped an turned toward me. Deep inside I knew he was right, I had to accept it, but it couldn't be any time soon... Could it? I got up and followed him.

"Come on, Darkflash." I mewed softly as I walked next to Jayfeather out of camp.

We walked through the territory quietly till Darkflash broke the silence. "Scarpaw" he asked quietly in my ear. I glanced at him, showing that I was listening. "Are... Are you happy that I am in your clan..." He paused, waiting for a reply.

I nodded, "of coarse I am my love." I rubbed my head against his head and purred, "there is just a lot on my mind..." I looked at him and smiled.

"What are you doing on our territory?" A fierce growl said from a few mouse lengths away. I turned around, it was a unfamiliar windclan cat, but I could tell that Darkflash new him. The strange cat looked at us with a hostile look.

"We are going to the moonpool, mouse-brain." Jayfeather snapped, "we are medicine cats!"

The strange cat looked at us, "why should I let you pass when the cat that left our clan through?"

Jayfeather's fur started to rise but I placed my tail on his shoulder and he put it down. "We are not looking for a fight." I mewed, "what your name?" I asked.

"Why should I tell you, intruders?" He snapped.

"It's Crowpaw," Darkflash mewed out. He had an annoyed face as he said the apprentices name.

Crowpaw glared at him and hissed. He looked hostile, like Tigerstar! "Don't tell them you flea brain!" He snapped.

"You better leave us alone, Crowpaw." Dark flash snapped back, "we are heading to the moonpool as medicine cats." Crowpaw's fur rised and pounced at Darkflash. The black medicine cat dodged and pinned the apprentice to the ground with his claws to his chest. "Leave now or I'll kill you," He paused, "you hostile fox heart!"

Crowpaw scrambled out of Darkflash's grip and run away with his tail between his legs. "I'm telling Onestar you are betraying the clan, you will regret ever being born, when I'm a warrior I swear on the power of Starclan I Will Kill You."

(Ok most of you have been waiting for the winner of the contest... 1st prize gets to have their idea and cat in the story. 2nd have their cat in the story and 3rd has one or two lines in the story. There was about 10 entries so here it is. Congrats to all the winners next contest I am having is when I get 20 subs.
