wooyoung

He was sitting at his dining table with his family, it was quite hard for them to be able to meet due to Wooyoung's extremely busy schedule.

"how's school going woo-ah?" his father asked with a wide smile on his face, he was extremely proud of his son's hard work and achievements. The fact that he lived alone wasn't something to underestimate, he had to take care of himself all the time and we could say it wasn't the easiest thing for a teenager, he also had a job that took most of his time so it could be extremely stressful for a guy his age.

"it's just going" he shrugged his shoulders, as if school was one of his major problems at that moment.

"how's Sannie doingggg??" his little brother screamed in excitement swinging on the chair.

"oh my, god. I haven't talked to Sannie in a while" the mom was reminded of that boy. San and Wooyoung's family had a really strong connection, he thought as them as his second family ever since his mother passed away and his dad started getting into that vortex called alcohol.

He could always go visit his second family whenever things weren't going well at home, and he knew their door was always open to welcome him and make him feel safe.

how things have changed...

"he's doing fine, we're extremely busy with school work these days so we're not talking much" lies.

"ohh as expected! you should take a break and have some fun like the others" his dad reached Wooyoung's hand and patted it in approval.

"you mean partying every night like Yunho? Barely standing on my feet from all the alcohol like Seonghwa? yeah no! i'll pass" he said in a sarcastic tone.

"i'm sure they're not that bad as you describe them every single time" the woman sat in front of his song chuckled.

"they're not, but they know how to live life unlike someone here" his dad turned his head to his wife and side eyed him on the last part of the sentence.

"whatever. Kyungmin-ah, how are things going at home? are they treating you well?" Wooyoung joked around, he knew that kid was spoiled as hell, way more than he was when he was his age.
His parents loved their kids to death and you could see that. An actual picture perfect family for once. Things went well for everyone and they knew how to make it through.

"well..mommy promised me something before we arrived here but she's not keeping it" the little kid pouted looking adorable in the eyes of his brother.

"what did she promise you?"

"ah come on, we just got here and you're already stressing me out Min-ah" his mom scolded him.

"i'll do it for him" Wooyoung giggled a bit before facing his brother once again.

"do you remember i played on San's console with him last time?.." he started "..i asked mom if she could let me play again with him because i had fun" oh.

"oh..sure! when do you wanna play with him?"

dug his own grave.

"now!!!" he jumped off the chair and started running around the table.

"Kyungmin-ah! it's too late to play with Sannie now" the woman pulled her son by the arm to stop him from making all the fuss.

"pleaseeee, this time and then i'll stop. please please please"

what has he gotten himself  into.

san

He discovered that the only way he could not think about Wooyoung and any other problems in his life at the way was going to the gym. He had only restarted a few days before but he found it effective.

He was doing some weight lifting with his music bombing his ears when it stopped playing and Siri announced a new notification coming on his phone.

incoming call from woo 🤍
accept                    decline

what the hell...?

He dropped the weights and went to grab his phone, checked the time on his watch and saw it was half past 10 in the evening.

why is he calling at this time..

The call screen disappeared and he felt once again empty. He just stood there, staring at the lock screen of his phone.

Many questions on why Wooyoung could have called at that time started invading his brain, including one.

what do I do..do I call back? I'm scared

He jogged around the gym in panic, he had no idea what to do. He received weird glances from a few grannies doing their activities and stopped moving and stared at the screen once again.

He unlocked his phone, opened the contacts app, typed out the name and tapped on it.

okay..it's ringing.

ring..

ring..

ring..

"SANNIEEEE" he left out a sight of relief. He could recognize that voice between hundreds.

"hii Kyungmin-ah!! how are you doing?" He felt himself at ease once again when he realized he wasn't talking to that one specific person.

"i'm gooddd..Sannie, since i'm here and mommy made a promise.." "mhm" "do you wanna come over to my brother's place to play with me?"

How could he say no to that kid. He had grown attached to him, he saw him grow up. He could hear how much he cared for San to be there and play with him.

"is Wooyoung okay with that?" he found himself stuttering a bit after thinking back to the reason why he was so anxious.

"mhmmm he just nodded!!" that kid was really excited to see his other hyung.

"alright i'll be there in 20" he smiled as if he could be seen by the other side of the line and hung up.

the most stressful 20 minutes of his life lately.

By the time he showered, put his clothes on and left the gym 12 minutes had already passed so he had to rush. He got into his car and started it. Before driving off he stared in front of him for a few seconds thinking about what he was going into.

He drove off and left what was thought behind.

He knew he wasn't doing the right thing. After doing what he had done to get into the situation he was in with Wooyoung, he had no right to swoop in front of the latter's door and pretend like absolutely nothing happened. But he was doing it for a good cause...right?...right??
