"Yes...What job do you have for me?" You ask back, giving him the same questioning look he gave you.

"I want you to watch them while I question them. They won't know you're here, like a spy. You tell us if they lie about anything." He smirks as he gestures to the one-way mirror behind him.

"Fine. I don't get paid, do I?" You joke, trying to forget that your close friend was murdered and you were last seen with her.

"Not for now, but if you keep up the good work, we might throw something in for you." He smirks again at your joke.

'So I'm a spy against my own friends, huh?' You officially agree to your deal and he lets you out of the room. You stand on the other side of where you just were as he leaves the office. After a good 20 minutes, a female officer walks in with one of your close friends, Torin. He sits down across from the female officer, where you can clearly see his face. You press the button on the speaker next to the window. Now you can hear them. The lady asked relatively close questions to what the male cop asked you as she wrote stuff down. You pay less attention to the conversation and more to Torin's face. You observe it carefully, waiting for a crack in his stone-cold expression.

"Who were you last within that mall, Mr. Sutton?" The cop asks him, her voice stern.

"My friends." Torin blankly replies.

"Can I have names please?" You can't see her face, but her voice sounded like she gave him an annoyed expression. You continue to watch your friend carefully.

"Aster, Jamie, and [Y/N]" He looks directly at the officer in front of him. She looks down to write notes down.

"And when do you remember last seeing Aster?" The woman asks.

"I can't remember," You noticed the crack in his face, the cop didn't. You tap on the glass, and the cop looks at the mirror behind her and stands up.

"Wait here please, Mr. Sutton." She says as she walks out and turns the corner to you. "What do you need Mx. [L/N]?" She asks you and looks you up and down.

"He lied." You glare into her icy blue eyes, your voice confident.

"Alright, thank you. Let's make a code, two taps is a lie, silence is the truth." She looks at you. You say nothing but nod, confirming your code. She walks away from you and back inside.

Torin glared and watched her sit down, his arms crossed. He smirked. "Who were you talking to?"
