"Shoot him."

The commander loomed beside me, growling the words into my ear as I stood there.

I stood there as a soldier who was once filled with pride about being picked for such a meaningful mission. However, the cold metal of the gun in my hand that used to give me that addictive adrenaline, now made me sick to my stomach.

The boy in front of me, who I used to see as psychotic and mental was the same boy who I had come to love.

I failed my mission.

"I said shoot him!" Commander Seo screamed in my ear, making my hands tremble before I tightened my grip on the gun in my hands.

The room was cold, empty feeling, though there were three people standing there. How could a room full of life feel so cold.

When did life become so meaningless? When did it become fight or die? Why was it this way..?

The most terrifying thing, however, was how Han Jisung was looking at me. His eyes were dull.. empty again like they used to be.

His face held no emotion as the gun was held only a few inches from his forehead.

Commander Seo ripped a gun out of his holster at his hip and held it up to my temple. The cold, cold metal making goosebumps arise over my arms and legs.

"Shoot him or I'll shoot you." Commander Seo in a tone so low that another wave of goosebumps went down my spine.

For only a split second Jisungs eyes glittered with something that I couldn't place. Something that made my heart clench so hard in my chest it was hard to breathe.

I had to kill someone I loved, or die myself.

"Soldier #297," Commander Seo said right next to my ear "you have failed your mission and the reform. You are hereby discharged from your duties as a soldier and will be punished by death for going against orders."

Time slowed. Time was nothing. The seconds were not moving. Nothing was moving yet it all went so fast.

One.

Two.

Three shots.

Three shots that echoed through the abandoned building we stood in.

Screaming.

Was that screaming?

Jisung screaming. Crying. Gasping for air.

The gun fell from my hands as my knees hit the floor.

Blood.

Blood everywhere.

Darkness filled my vision as the world went black and jisungs screaming faded into echos and soon nothingness.
