Minho stirred in his sleep.
Something felt off and he couldn't place it after slowly gaining his consciousness.
After a few moments, Minho fluttered open his eyes and swallowed dryly before looking around.
That's when he saw a shadow sitting beside him, watching him as he slept.
"What the-" the shadows hand was placed over his mouth and Minho struggled to get it away from him as the person climbed over him. They lay across his body as he pushed and shoved to get him off.
"I wouldn't want to wake the others up if I were you," jisungs voice whispered in his ear as he kept his hand over his lips.
Minho froze, wondering why Jisung was on top of him in the middle of the night.
Slowly jisungs hand moved away to see if Minho would talk more. To his satisfaction, he didn't.
"Good boy," Jisung whispered in the quiet night.
Minho didn't know how to feel. How to process what was happening in the slightest. But those words, those words made his cheeks turn pink. He'd never been more grateful for darkness in his life.
"What are you doing?" Minho whispered back to Jisung who only chuckled, his face inches away.
"Watching you sleep,"
"Why?"
"Because I want to,"
"Why?"
"If you keep asking questions, I'll have to shut that pretty mouth of yours," Jisung whispered, his breath fanning across Minhos neck now as he whispered in his ear again.
Minho pressed his lips together and swallowed again.
"I'm thirsty.." he whispered next.
"Oh me too, pretty.. me too," jisungs smirk could be seen now that the others eyes had adjusted well enough to the pitch black around them.
"For water, you freak," Minho whispered and tried to push Jisung off of him again but he went dead weight.
"Wait here, I'll grab it for you," Jisung whispered and got up, his soft footsteps wandering off to the kitchen where he heard quiet rustling. Jisungs shadow then moved back into the room and sat down beside Minhos mattress and handed him a plastic water bottle.
"Thank you," Minho said softly and opened it, taking a few long drinks before setting it down beside his bed.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" He asked next, both of them keeping their voices quiet.
"I'm too excited.." Jisung answered, smiling softly as he scooted his own mattress flush against Minhos.
"For?"
"Freedom," Jisung said simply and shrugged
"We're not free. I'm sure they'll come after us eventually,"
"This is the first time I've felt free in hundreds of days.. it's a start, regardless of whether I am truly free yet or not,"
Minho looked down at his lap, playing with a loose thread on the blanket over his lap before looking back up at Jisung.
"Why were you in there..?" He asked after a few moments of quiet.
Jisung seemed tense after asking and Minho felt bad for it. Jisung paused, letting out a short breath before he shook his head.
"Don't worry your pretty head about that," Jisung said and scooted closer to Minho before gently pushing him back to lie down again, "get some rest, tomorrows a busy day,"
With that, Jisung turned over and pulled the blanket over his body. Minho watched his back for only a moment before turning the opposite direction as well and closing his eyes again.
However, all he could think about was jisungs body against his own and how he'd never felt something like that before in his life.
