Deep thoughts

"We only have to do one thing in the heist now," said Kid Cobra. He and Min Min were sitting on her bed, having a brief talking about the plan to prevent the future crisis, "Spring Man isn't removed from ARMS yet. That should mean we don't have to retrieve the expulsion papers."

Min Min nodded slowly, "however, I don't think that makes the heist any easier."

KC picked up the piece of paper again and headed over to Min Min's desk. Picking up a pen, he wrote down a few words.

GOAL: Stop the device from working

Min Min peered over his shoulder and made a pondering expression.

"There are a few things we need to modify," she said, "the first thing is the Mecha's USB stick. We need to make sure it can quickly transfer the codes. We were almost damn caught last time because she had no idea how long it'd take. I'm not blaming her, though. I suppose it isn't that easy."

"Can't we just destroy the crystal? That way Coyle won't be able to use the power stored in there."

"To be honest, I don't think that's a good idea. Around a month or two later, the crystal would've fully filled up with ARMS energy. I remember the moment Coyle took control over the whole city. It was a non-physically-destructive explosion."

"But the crystal isn't fully filled yet."

"KC, while the crystal might only be two feet tall and a foot wide, it's energy capacity is so much higher than you'd expect. The amount of ARMS energy in it right now could be enough to supply ARMS Tower's electricity for nearly three years."

A flash of understanding seemed to appear on his face.

"If we can't destroy the crystal, can we at least destroy the device?"

"I believe that's going to be extremely difficult – I mean, if I were Coyle, I would make that thing sturdy as hell."

KC nodded and they were silent for a few seconds.

"So messing the circuits is the only way to stop Coyle from taking our ARMS energy and use it for bad?"

"Pretty much."

The room was once again filled with silence as KC spun the pen on his right hand with ease until it went flying across the room. But as he went to pick it up, Min Min spoke.

"Why aren't you at training?"

"Don't worry about me. I told you I'm assigned ARMS Labs work today instead, right? I'll be heading the gym in a short while. I just wanted to talk to you to see what you're up to."

Seeing a ghostly smile flit on Min Min's face made KC smile as well.

"You should get going. I'll plan the heist. Tell everyone except Ninjara to come to my room for dinner."

KC looked like he would've responded if he wasn't paying attention to what she was saying. His smile quickly faded and looked slightly bewildered before asking cautiously, "uh, what?"

"I will have finished planning the heist by then. Ninjara must not find out about it."

"Wh... why not?"

Min Min's face slowly fell, her expression filled with melancholia. Kid Cobra instantly regretted asking that while knowing the answer, as he knew making her think about Ninjara's death would be the last thing she'd want.

"I... I want to protect him," she said softly, her voice barely heard, "if he comes with us on the heist, I just believe he has a dangerously high chance of leaving me again. I don't want that. Perhaps you're right, something heavy would have to be paid to replace the avoided death, but for now, he is everything to me."
