Today was the third day of a ten day break for the ninjas in Ninja College. After having a hard time balancing ARMS and school since both have such aggressive schedules, Ninjara was well relieved to finally be able to put down one side for a while.
Even though he had only known the future Min Min for a short while, he had already started treating her like the normal one. Having finished his ARMS labor early enough, he had left to hang out with his friend Akuta for the rest of the day.
After a few hours of carefree talking and drinking coffee in his lounge, Ninjara had finally freed his mind of thoughts about ARMS. While he loved ARMS, it had been extremely troublesome and hateful since Coyle took over.
"That movie is too good to not have a sequel, period," Akuta said with a laugh, and Ninjara nodded. Just as he was about to respond, his phone vibrated in his pocket, and he casually took it out. It was a message from Ribbon Girl.
"Absolutely," Ninjara replied before looking down at his phone.
Good luck with your busy schoolwork! Ik it's tiring being a college student while also being in a fighting league run by a mad scientist lol -Ribbon Girl 19:12
While it was a positive message, Ninjara's face furrowed into a frown. It was normal for Ribbon to not know he had ten days off school, but why would she think he had busy schoolwork? She normally didn't really care as it was none of her business.
Now come to think about it, nobody in ARMS League was actually familiar with his school days schedules, except one member.
Min Min.
They got along quite well when they first joined ARMS because they had lots in common: Asian, martial arts masters, love for Japanese food, etc.
It suddenly occurred to Ninjara as a random thought that Ribbon Girl wouldn't really know what was going on in his school unless Min Min told her.
So why would Min Min tell Ribbon he had busy schoolwork if she definitely knew he didn't?
Akuta noticed Ninjara freezing still as soon as opening the notification.
"Ninjara? You alright?"
"Yes..." he lifted his head to look at his friend. He wanted to continue talking to convince Akuta he really was fine but didn't know what to say as his mind was just suddenly clouded with thoughts.
Before he knew it, he began to get suspicious.
Akuta's house was a ten minute drive from ARMS Tower, where both Min Mins were sure to be.
"I'm sorry, but I think my friend might be hiding something important from me," Ninjara said. He wasn't even seventy percent sure if that was the case, and he really wanted to hang out, but he needed to make it sound actually important without overexaggerating it.
"Who? An ARMS friend?"
Ninjara nodded.
"I understand. Apparently things are going really tough for you guys since Coyle came, right?"
"Tell me about it, damn."
"Of course. You should go."
A minute later, Ninjara was already off and going in his car.
