"Daisy, I don't think you're fit for this mission," Agent Richards' voice held a heavy sadness as if each word weighed on his soul.

"Wait! What can I do to prove I'm worth the job?" Daisy's voice quivered with a desperate determination, a stubborn will to prove herself against all odds.

"The decision is final. We've already enlisted a replacement. I'm sorry, Daisy." The apology in Agent Richards' tone carried a bittersweet sorrow, hinting at the regret of destroying someone's dreams.

"What if I got you the evidence you wanted? I have some fake IDs and papers from his car. I can get you audio evidence too if you want! And the tracking device! It's still in his car and house." Daisy's words rushed forth, fueled by her undying hope and dedicated loyalty.

"Daisy...I understand how much you want to excel in this job. And you have what it takes. But since you can't keep your professionalism, I'm going to have to..."

Agent Richards paused mid-sentence when he heard Daisy's silent weeping, realizing the deep impact of his next words.

"Never mind...I'll give you one more chance Daisy. No more after that. This could risk both of us losing our jobs."

"Thank you, Richards! I'll get you the evidence by the end of today." Daisy's voice broke free from her chest with overflowing gratitude and relief, carrying within it an unyielding determination to seize this final opportunity.

"Right..." Agent Richards' voice trailed off softly, filled with a mix of apprehension and hesitant optimism, aware of the high stakes they were about to face together. "Notify me about what you have by tonight."

Then he hung up.

Daisy slumped down on her bed, her body heavy with exhaustion and the weight of the stressful situation she was in.

Her mind raced with thoughts of Carlton, his demeanor, and lack of honesty leaving her feeling distraught and frustrated.

She had hoped to build a relationship with him, but time was not on her side. She needed information now, but how could she get it?

Threaten him? In Carlton's world, detectives were just pawns on his blood-spattered chessboard, and he moved across it with a cold precision.

His military training was obvious in his quick movements and calculated actions. As an FBI agent for nine years, Daisy had gone through intense one-year training, but she knew that Carlton could easily overpower her if he wanted to. The thought made her heart race with fear for herself and her daughter.

Agent Richards had been looking after her precious child while she worked tirelessly on this case in New York, and she couldn't bear the thought of burdening him with that responsibility for the rest of his life if something were to happen to her at the hands of Carlton.

Daisy stood outside Carlton's house. This was it, her chance to hopefully obtain the evidence she needed. She took a deep breath and rang the doorbell, ready to put on her best act yet.
