Daisy lounged on the silk sheets of her hotel room, her eyes fixed on her half-packed suitcase.
She had spent the whole night tossing and turning, unable to shake off the depression that weighed heavily on her conscience. Dawn was breaking, soft sunlight peeking through the curtains as she made her choice.
She couldn't stay here any longer.
Not another moment.
With a heavy heart, she began packing her belongings into her suitcase. As she folded her clothes and tidied up the room, she couldn't help but replay the events of last night in her mind.
She should have been more cautious.
She should have listened to Agent Richards' warnings. Instead, she had let herself be blinded by feelings for Samson and now he was gone.
Tears pricked at Daisy's eyes again and she roughly brushed them away. She didn't have time for this. She had a flight to catch back to London and an apology letter to write.
As she finished packing, Daisy sat down on the bed and took a pen and paper out of her bag. She scribbled a heartfelt note to Agent Richards or Ophelia, confessing to her mistake and stating her decision to go home with her daughter.
Tears splattered onto the note as she signed off,
"Sincerely, Daisy."
She placed it against a scarlet pillow before pulling on a leather jacket, grabbing her suitcase, and leaving.

Ophelia sank into Daisy's warm hotel bed, staring blankly at the tear-stained note. She felt her heart sink as she swallowed back tears.
How could Daisy leave like this?
Without even saying goodbye or giving them a chance to fix things?
She dialed Daisy multiple times but was met with painful silence.
After a while of basking in despair, there was a knock on the door. Ophelia hastily wiped her tears and straightened before opening the door.
Agent Richards stood there, his brooding eyes scanning her disheveled appearance.
"Richards?" She mumbled, stepping aside to let him in. "What are you doing here?"
His eyes softened with concern. "Ophelia, is everything alright? You look...you look like you've been crying."
