Nick’s hands travel up charlie’s waist, Charlie’s head pressing into Nick’s chest, and Nick’s head on charlie’s shoulder. Nick’s hands run along charlie’s back, he can feel charlie still crying;
N “Baby,”
Charlie looks up at Nick through the tears, Nick looks down into charlie’s eyes and charlie sees Nick crying too, I mean it was his dog, but watching Nick being as sad as he is and trying to comfort charlie is something; that dog started the relationship, she was the sweetest little thing and now she is gone. Nick grabs charlie’s face and wipes the tears away with his thumb, Henry jumps up onto the bed and cuddles up in between them missing his old cuddle buddie,
N “Char, we still got this lil guy”
Charlie nods and cuddles into Nick’s chest again somewhat crushing the little pug in the way.
C “But, Nellie, Nellie started our relationship; she was the reason you invited me over to your place”
N “excuse me- I also invited you cause I liked you”
Charlie laughs, not so many tears as before,
C “we both know you wouldn’t have had the guts to ask me over with out a reason”
Nick scoffs grabbing charlie’s chin kissing his cheek, the trail of salty tears still there.
N “remember all the dates we had with her”
C “stop I’m gonna cry again!”
Nick kisses charlie’s neck,
N “when are you finally going to learn that crying is an ok thing to do”
Nick holds charlie close running his hands over Charlie’s back, Charlie lets go of Nick now holding the little pug kissing his forehead and hugging him. Nick smiles at his boyfriend being cute in his arms; it was obvious that there were still sad but more a reminiceing type sad, remembering all the good times with Nick’s dog the sweet little dates, the walks at the park,
N “well maybe this is an opporituity to get a new dog”
C “Yeah… Maybe in a month or two… I don’t think we should replace her just yet…”

A few months later
Nick and charlie are laying on their bed, Henry is laying on Charlie’s chest,
C “What breed of dog should we get next?”
N “well Nellie was a border collie… I always thought pomegranates were cute”
Charlie laughs suddenly freaking Henry out
C “you mean pomeranian?”
N “Yeah I always forget what they’re called,”
C “I thought we would get another big dog… Like a husky or maybe we could get another golden retriever”
N “Another? We never had a golden retrie- Fuck you, I am not a golden retriever”
C “Yeah, You are”
Nick cuddles into charlie giving him a quick kiss;
C “a corgi? Or Chow Chow?”
N “chow chow? ”
C “they’re big and poofy, like a small cow”
Nick cuddles onto charlie and charlie cuddles back; Nick starts to kiss charlie, getting a dog will be fun even if the reason they're getting another is sad.
C “we will go to the shelter and find a nice cuddly one, But for now I’ll cuddle with you”
