Jason texts me to meet him back at his house. I'd only just gotten home after cleaning up the mess of the clothes in his hallway. My parents haven't questioned my new wardrobe choices aka Jason's clothes. They're a tad baggy on me but I like it, they remind me of him. Though as soon as that message comes through I change into some jeans and a band t-shirt. Putting on my leather jacket I quickly head to Aubrey's room. From here I can smell that her mate is with her, luckily they aren't doing anything if I smell that I'd never recover.

Knocking rapidly on her door she eventually opens, "Alex calm yourself what's the rush." Briefly trying to explain without letting her mate catch onto what I mean panic sparks in her eyes.

"Okay yes of course i'll help."

Sighing relieved, I turned around and rushed downstairs. Going over to the fridge I grab two boxes of blood, one for me and one for Aubrey. Right now I really don't want to drink but I need to be strong enough. Jason needs me to be at my best so I will. He messaged me saying his little brother is coming and to be honest I'm surprised he told him about us. That's if he did, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be acting like his platonic vampire best friend so that will be something to figure out once we're there.

My sister comes down dressed in leggings and bodysuit, clearly ready for if something goes down. She grabs her black denim jacket from the coat hook putting it on before tying her long black hair in a ponytail. She kind of looks like an extra in a superhero movie... I love it. We don't have to wear jackets as we don't really feel the cold– we're naturally freezing from the whole being dead thing. But as it's Autumn we wear them to try and fit in as much as possible. Aubrey's mate comes downstairs effortlessly smooth, he kisses her goodbye before leaving. It was extremely brief probably because I'm here. He may know that I get a tad weirded out by the age gap but I'm happy for them nonetheless.

"Okay let's go," Aubrey says with faux confidence. From the way she's shaking it's clear she's scared of what we could find. Or who. If we do find Jason's mum we have no idea what state she'll be in, or what our parents will do to us.

We make it to Jason's house quickly by running through the woods, I miss running but its so risky with all the wolves around. Jason and Micheal are standing by the front door anxiety etched over their features. There's also a smaller boy next to them, from here I can just about see that his features are similar to Jason. So, this must be his younger brother though I don't remember if he said what his name is.

Jason spots us straight away, he quickly comes up to me. His arms wrap around me in a warm embrace. He whispers in my ear, "Thank you for coming." His warm breath against my ear is a pleasurable feeling and I wish I could reassure him in the way I want. Squeezing him quickly I release the hug, looking over his shoulder to see Jason's brother looking intently at us with a smile on his face.

Micheal is turned the other way looking at the ground. For some reason he always seems to find the most interesting things to focus on when Jason and I are somewhat affectionate, for instance his shoes or the ground. I myself have never found them that intriguing but maybe I need to give it a try.

Jason greets Aubrey then takes his hand in mine and leads us into the house. A slight shocked expression mixed with relief crosses his face as he notices the lack of ripped up shirts. I'm sure that would've been a fun thing to explain to his brother. From the way he looks at me and squeezes my hand I'm certain it's a silent thank you. Micheal also seems to notice the lack of mess and smiles at me. HE FULLY SMILED AT ME! A miracle must be going on because that has never happened from all the time I've known him (at least a week).

Jason guides us into the kitchen and I get slight deja vu from earlier. We go to the table but this time, Jason makes sure I sit next to him. From the way he's still holding my hand I can tell he is petrified. His brother sits on the end of the table closest to Jason. Micheal sits at the other end opposite Jason's brother and one seat away from Aubrey. Jason's brother doesn't seem to mind sitting near a vampire which is good for me because if I ever do make it into their family it would be great to be able to see Aubrey around Jason's family.
