SEASON 3, EP 3

Bad Day at Black Rock pt. 1

The impala was driving down a dark road, Sam and Dean arguing inside.

"Because demon, that's why. I mean, the second you find out this Ruby chick is a demon, you go for the holy water! You don't chat!"

"No one was chatting, Dean."

Dean cocked his head, "Oh yea? Then why didn't you send her ass back to hell?"

"Because - because she said she might be able to help us out!"

Dean gave a confused look to Sam before turning his face back to the road, "how?"

Sam didn't say anything, causing Dean to get even more irritated.

"No, really, Sam, how? How could she possibly help us?!"

"She told me she could help you, okay?" Sam looked away from Dean and out the window, looking at the side mirror, staring at the person that was driving behind them.

Dean stared forward. He wasn't getting what Sam was saying.

"Help you out of the crossroads deal."

Dean turned his head and looked at Sam with an incredulous look. "What is wrong with you, huh? She's lying, you gotta know that, don't you? She knows what your weakness is - it's me." Dean stopped with his spiel, looking away before speaking up again, "what else did she say?"

Sam moved uncomfortably in his seat, "she said she could tell us more about Beau."

Dean whipped his head towards Sam, "what about him?"

Sam shrugged, "she wouldn't say, just that she would tell me more about him, stuff we don't know about him."

Dean looked out his side view mirror looking at the blonde behind them, slightly shaking his head Dean turned to Sam, "Sam-"

"Look, I'm not an idiot Dean, I'm not talking about trusting her, I'm talking about using her. I mean, we're at war, right? And we don't know jack about the enemy; we don't know where they are, and we don't know what they're doing. I mean, hell, we don't know what they want. Now, this Ruby girl knows more than we will ever find out on our own. Now, yes, it's a risk, I know that, but we need to take it."

Dean shook his head before giving Sam a worried look, "you're okay, right, I mean, you're feeling alright?"

Sam let out an exasperated sigh, "yes, I'm fine, why are you always asking me that?"

Before Dean could say anything back, a phone starts ringing, Sam sighs, reaching into his pocket, letting out a confused sound, "it's not mine."

Dean reaches for his, "nope." Dean nodded his head in the direction of the glove box, "check the glove compartment, it's dad's."

"Dad's?"

"Yea, I keep it charged up in case any of his old contacts call."
