"Can I tell you something?" I asked A'ja over the phone before laughing a little
"Oh lord, let me know something. You can tell me whatever you wanna tell me"
"I only gave you my number cause I didn't really think you was gone use it" I admitted before she started laughing
"No, if I ask for something I'm putting it to use. You ain't want me to bother you?"
"No, I just really didn't think you would use it"
"Right, right" she said before I laughed a little, "You be hiding, you gone let me come see you?"
I'm getting the vibes that this girl do not wanna be friends. Maybe I'm analyzing her too much, but this is a different type of energy.
Energy that I'm not used to.
We've actually been on the phone talking a lot. She is actually really chill and laidback, but she's a big kid.
All she does is joke around and play, it's cute.
"You wanna link with me?" I asked while smiling uncontrollably
We've been on the phone for an hour and i've been smiling the whole time. I don't know why, but I do know my cheeks hurt.
"If you allow me to" she said before I just chuckled, "So, yes or no?"
"Yes, we can A'ja"
"Ohhh, A'ja?" she said causing me to laugh, "You like my name?"
"It's unique — the spelling, I like it"
"You can call me bae, just you"
"Huh?" I said wanting her to repeat herself, did I hear her right?
She's bold.
"Huh?" she mocked me causing me to laugh again and she laughed too, "What you said?"
"No, what did you say?"
"I ain't say nothing, but when we gone do this?" she asked now changing the subject back, "I'm free whenever right now, I got time"
"I got a track meet Saturday morning, and after that I'm off for three days"
"I'm coming to the meet" she said leaving me a little shocked, "Send me the tickets or whatever I need"
"I'll send you the link, and it's gonna have all the information on there"
"I'm gone have something planned for us when I come. You better be ready"
Eventually, we hung up the phone before I collected my stuff and left out. I have practice, so it's time for me to get in my element.
Once I made it, I replied to a few texts before putting my phone on do not disturb. I put on my headphones and started my music before hitting the track.
We have to run three laps for our warm up. Sometimes I wish we had a different warmup because I get tired of this.
I finished up with my warmup before waiting as everybody finished up their laps. Everybody lined up for drills before we started.
"Tee coach saw you" I told Teetee while holding back my laugh, "He coming to get you"
"Oh shit" she said while getting back right and I just laughed carelessly
She's always doing dumb shit in practice. I don't know why or how she always has the energy to do crazy stuff.
"It's too late, he saw you playing"
"You finna run the stadium with me" she mumbled before I hummed in doubt
I didn't do nothing this time.
We're always together, so when she gets in trouble I get in trouble with her. I don't know why, but when we get together, we turn into kids.
"Tee hit the trail" Coach said before my mouth dropped shockingly, "Carri, you with her"
"You know you wasn't doing right, so let's go" Tee instigated as I mugged her while getting out the line
"Coach be for real, you did not see me doing nothing" I said while approaching him because I'm not in the mood to run the trail
"You laughing during drills, I told y'all this ain't play time. Laugh outside of my line, now go"
We went to the trail before starting to run. The trail is in the woods and it goes through a neighborhood.
I rather run the stadium than the trail.
"Uh oh" I said before Teetee turned around out of fear causing me to laugh
"Stop playing, Carri"
"I ain't even do nothing" I said while laughing silently before attempting to trip her up
She caught herself, which resulted in her not falling. I laughed as she just gave me the nastiest look ever.
"I should trip you up, why would you do that while I'm running?"
"Cause it would've been funny" she tried to trip me up but failed. I tripped her up again before actually succeeding.
I stopped and just stood there dying of laughter while trying to help her up.
"Sha'Carri" she said as I continued to just laugh. She started laughing too, which made it funnier, "I'm gone get your ass back"
She got up while brushing herself off.
"Okay, we need to get all our playing out before we go back. Coach gone sit us down, like dead ass" I said while tryna actually be serious with her
"Bruh that's you, you so damn childish"
"You walked into practice playing, and now you got me playing. You're childish"
We rejuvenated ourselves before finishing up on the trail. To be safe, we decided not to be by each other on the track.
The only thing that I can think about is A'ja. I'm actually excited about meeting up with her.
I just hope that she's not crazy or anything because I'm definitely letting her in too quick. She don't give me bad vibes, so maybe that's why.
Today has been a good day because i've been ignoring Jermaine. Anything he do or say sets the tone for my mood and day.
He has been blowing my phone up and sending threats. This man is crazy as hell.
I don't wanna engage with him until he's in his right mind. Once he comes to a proper conclusion about what he wants to do then I'll talk.
Other than that, I want nothing to do with him. I told him that and now he's acting crazy.
I can't ever win with him.
