"You acting like you don't know nobody. Where you been hiding at?" Zia asked before nudging my shoulder
"I been out the way, chilling. Where your friend at?" I asked referring to her 'friend' as Aja
"I don't know where her slinky ass done snuck off to. Probably done found a bitch and ran off"
"Oh, she know not to be with no bitch" I said while looking around for her
"She a free agent, she single. If she is with a bitch I'm happy cause she need some action"
"Zia, please" I waved her off without doing too much, "She not with no female"
"But shit, why you didn't text me back?"
"When?"
"Months ago, you left me on delivered. At the awards show I told you I was gone text you" she said causing me to go into a deep thought
"Oh, I remember. I left you on read for real?"
"Yeah"
"What was you saying, it was urgent?" I asked hoping it wasn't because then i'll feel bad
That was months ago, and I wasn't really fit for talking. I'm still not, but I'm definitely in a better space.
"Not life or death, I just wanted to talk to you about something personal"
"We can talk real quick if you want cause I don't know if I'll be busy after we leave" she was just looking at me and by her expression I knew it was gonna be bullshit
"I ain't gone beat around the bush, I'm gone be straight up. Ever since I first seen you, I wanted you"
"Woah" I immediately said getting caught off guard. I don't even know how to respond to her right now

I was just staring at her stuck before she waved her hand getting my attention.
"Zia we been knowing each other for a while, no. You can't look at me like that" I said being honest with her
Her and A'ja are closer than me and her. If A'ja heard her say that, they would be fighting. On top of that, Zia don't even know about me and A'ja.
Nobody really knows about us because we don't need that attention.
I don't even look at Zia in that way, so this weird.
"And I tried to be in denial, I really did. You just so angelic and put together. I can't just brush that under the rug"
"Please say you playing cause this gone force me to stop talking you"
"I'm not playing, just listen —" I cut her off because I'm entertaining the conversation for too long
"Zia, no. I appreciate you expressing that, but you just fucked up a good bond"
"Exactly, we built a friendship first. So —"
"We can't be together" I stressed because she's not getting it, "I gotta go, bye"
I walked away looking for A'ja because we supposed be leaving. She been running around this party like she a kid at the candy store.
Eventually I found her before pulling her out the mix. It's time to go, and she's acting like she don't wanna leave.
Ain't that much fun in the world.
"I'm tryna talk to somebody real quick" A'ja said while looking around causing me to do the same
"How you gone rush me and you ain't even ready?"
