I closed out my prayer before closing my journal too. I'm getting back into praying heavily and journaling.
So much been going on to the point where I'm losing track of God. The devil distracting me, he tryna stop me.
It's my fault because I'm allowing it.
I checked my phone before grabbing my belongings. I'm going to brunch with my cousins because they asked it we can do something since I'm home.
I'm kind of late because I did have a meeting for Nike. I wanted to write in my journal and take time to myself too.
I got in my car before putting the address in. It's almost fifteen minutes away, which isn't too bad. After having a mini concert the whole ride I finally made it.
"I think ima get french toast, grits, and some eggs on the side" I said while looking at the variety of options on the menu
"They french toast do hit" Shauna said giving me confirmation to get it
"Wait, I hope this place ain't like Keke's. Keke's be making your stomach hurt, I be on the toilet"
"Shitty booty ass" Chris said before we all started laughing, "But you ain't lying, Keke's have you on the toilet for days"
"I can't relate" Leah said while shrugging and taking a sip from her mimosa
"But Carri where the fuck you been?" Shauna asked causing everybody to look at me
"LA"
"With who?" they all asked in unison before I chuckled nervously
"Her name A'ja"
"She on the team with you?" Chris asked causing me to shake my head no, "You met her at the gas station?"
Leah sucked her teeth before I actually started laughing. Why the fuck do he think I'll acknowledge anybody from a gas station?
"Now you know Carri ain't talking to nobody from no gas station" Leah said causing me to nod in agreement
He know this.
"Then who is A'ja?" he asked becoming more curious
"A'ja Wilson — the one that play basketball" they all gave me a shocking look
"You was with her the whole time?"
"We started working towards a relationship, grandma stopped talking to me because of it, and now she mad"
"At what?" Shauna asked kind of confused
"Cause I told her me and her relationship was messing up me and grandma's. She told me I was using her"
"For what?"
I paused after coming to the realization that I just ran my mouth too much. Now, I gotta figure out how to switch the topic.
"For what, and what happen to Jermaine?" Leah asked as they all looked at me curiously
"We not together, we been broke up"
"And I'm thinking he finna be at the cookout. Carri y'all was so cute together, I know he miss you"
Fuck it I'm finna tell them.
"That nigga is not who y'all think he is. He be beating my ass, literally. That's one of the reasons I was with A'ja" I said before their facial expressions changed
"Where the fuck he at?" Chris asked while standing up quick and everybody else did too
"No dead ass, call that nigga up. Sha'Carri and how long he been doing that?" Leah asked and I can tell she was angry
"Y'all can't do nothing, y'all gone make it worse" I told her as Shauna pulled me up, "I'm tryna tell y'all that nigga gone kill me"
This exactly why I kept it a secret for so long.
"Let's go, where he at?" Shauna spat out while still holding onto me
They was all just raging at once, I couldn't make out what was being said.
"Wait y'all ain't thinking" I said while being pulled outside as people watched us, "Shauna let me go"
"Sha'Carri where that nigga at?" Chris asked while coming closer to me, "He fucked up, on my soul"
"Y'all I don't know where he at"
"This nigga be beating you and you sitting up here protecting him?" Leah asked while pushing me a little, "Don't be stupid, Carri"
"I'm not lying, I really don't know where he at"
"When the last time you seen him, where he be at?" Chris asked before wiping the sweat from across his forehead
How he start sweating so quick?
"He be popping up to my hou —"
"We going to your house, come on. Call him cause I know you got his number" Chris said causing me to sigh nervously
"I'm not calling, Chris"
"Yes, you is and I'm finna call Dez. We finna show his ass, call him or give me the number"
"Stop looking at us like we crazy" Shauna said while taking my phone, "Unlock it, you ain't got no choice"
I just unlocked it before going to Jermaine contact. They gone really get my ass dealt with, I should've kept quiet.
"When he answer tell him you wanna see him" Chris instructed with a serious look on his face, "Is you fucking listening?"
"Chris, yes"
I started calling him and the phone rung out for so long, he didn't answer.
Thank god.
"Call his ass back" Shauna demanded while pointing at the phone before I sighed
Damn.
"You gone blow his shit up till he fucking answer" Chris said before I started calling back
I called back three more times before he finally picked up. He's so mad that I even just blew his phone up like that.
The entire conversation he cursed me out as I tried convincing him to come to me. He kept refusing before eventually giving in.
Chris made me tell him to meet me in our cousin neighborhood instead of my house. I'm so nervous because I don't even know what's finna happen.
"Y'all really ain't gotta come, go home. We finna handle this shit, me and Dez got it" Chris said before I scrunched my face up
"No" I said before they looked at me crazy
"We going" Leah said in a serious tone, "So, let's go cause I'm ready for this"
I went and got in my car with the feeling of anxiety flowing through my body. Chris and Dez really step on shit, so it's no telling what they finna do.
I don't know if they finna beat his ass or kill him.
