Pier stood on the chariots as he talked to his stylist and Adella, Marina glanced around and Finnick was nowhere to be seen. As Marina and Venelope walked up to the chariot Adella turned around with a gasp, "You look stunning, Marina truly." she complimented Marina as she looked around noticing tributes from other districts giving her glares.

"Thank you, Adella." as the brunette was about to climb onto the chariot a familiar voice was heard that caused her to turn around, Pearl and Finnick both walked up to their tributes. The escort was ushering Marina up onto the chariot as she rolled her eyes and turned back around, "You both look wonderful!" she continued, "Now keep the same energy you had earlier, you both were perfect!" Pearl added.

As Pearl rambled to the two tributes, Finnick found himself admiring Marina, how does she look so breathtaking? The victor then shook his head as he popped a sugar cube into his mouth "Aren't those for the horses?" Marina's voice dropped in.

"The horses didn't win the Hunger Games, Sweetheart," Finnick replied as he looked up at the brunette, the girl rolled her eyes and looked away already annoyed with his presence.

The tributes were then told to get into their places, Marina huffed out a breath in an attempt to calm her nerves "Marina," the girl turned as Finnick called her name. Looking down at the Golden Boy a smirk present on his face he spoke, "You look stunning," her hazel eyes narrowed in his direction, and before she could reply the voice of Caesar Flickerman cut through the crowd.

"And here they come, the tributes of the 68th Annual Hunger Games!" Marina was startled by the movement of the horses, she clutched her hands tightly causing her knuckles to turn white. Once they exited the tunnel, they were instantly bombarded by the screams and whistles of the crowds. Marina and Pier plastered huge smiles on their faces and waved to the fans, though the girl could still tell Pier was nervous. She huffed out a breath as her instincts kicked in, she reached down and grabbed his tiny hand giving it three squeezes. Pier let out a heavy breath as he felt relieved now, his body relaxed as the older girl brought him comfort.

They kept up the act as the chariots moved along the path before coming to a stop. Marina's attention then shifted to the balcony above them, and she found herself looking directly at President Snow.

Chills were sent down the girl's spine as she was assaulted by one emotion, hatred. "Welcome. Welcome. Tributes, we welcome you." the President called. "We salute your courage and your sacrifice. And we wish you, a happy Hunger Games. And may the odds be ever in your favor." Snow finished, and the District Four tribute found herself fuming. His words left Marina tense as her breathing became harsh and uneven.

The chariots started to move back into the tunnel, Pier had to give Marina's hand a slight tug to remind her to wave at the crowds. The two tributes not stopping till they were fully inside the tunnel.

As Marina climbed down off the chariot she was overwhelmed by Pearl's arms wrapping around the two, "Oh you two were fantastic!" the blonde pulled away to turn towards Marina, "You are a natural! It's almost like you were born to be in the Capitol!" her high pitched voice screeched as Marina's hazel eyes immediately darkened, Pearls comment had completely set her off. She then turned around with a glare and started walking off causing Pearl to let out an awkward laugh.

The glass elevators were quick to open, and a few seconds later the group stepped into the apartment. Both tribute's eyes grew wide, the apartment made the fancy trains look like nothing. The room was huge, it was decorated with luxurious furniture and expensive chandeliers, and each wall was aligned with tall windows that overlooked the Capitol.

Marina's lips drew into a frown as she looked around the apartment, at least we get to spend time in a nice apartment before dying. As everyone else began to sit at the dining table, the brunette was still looking at everything in disgust. "Better get used to this." the girl turned to her left to see Finnick looking down at her, Marina huffed out a harsh breath before glaring at the mentor and walking off to her room.

"Did I say something wrong?" Finnick mocked looking over at everyone sitting at the table with a smile almost as if he achieved something by annoying Marina. Adella frowned at the blonde Victor, she knew Finnick was only picking on the girl but for god sake, the girl was being sent off to die in a few days the least he could do was be nicer. Marina was already struggling enough and Finnick's comments weren't helping whatsoever.

"Leave her alone, Finnick." Adella insisted hoping the blonde would listen to her for once. Finnick nodded his head with a laugh, "People are going to die, Adella, we don't need to sugarcoat it. She could lighten up a little before she gets sent to kill other children." He then turned away and walked off to his room popping a sugar cube into his mouth.
