Everyone was gathered around the living space as they waited for the announcement of the training scores. The mentors were eager to see how their tributes did, though Finnick didn't miss the way Marina bit her nails as her leg bounced up and down at a rapid pace.

The screen flashed, the Panem anthem played and Caesar Flickerman appeared. Marina blocked out all the chatter up until Caesar Flickerman got to District 4, what the hell is my score gonna be?

"Moving onto District 4." Caesar started, everyone shifted to the edge of their seats while Marina leaned further back into the cushions, hoping to hide herself from the scolding that was bound to happen. "Pier Stone, with a score of 8." Everyone cheered for the young boy as Adella gave him a small side hug whispering words of approval. Marina looked at everyone as her eyes grew wider, everyone was so confident awaiting her score.

The air felt as though it was suffocating the brunette as Caesar Flickerman looked down at the girl's score, "Marina Rivers, with a score of..." Caesar's eyes flickered back down to the paper, eyes knitted together in confusion as he cleared his throat "With the score of a two."

The silence was loud as time seemed to slow, everyone was in disbelief as Marina felt her arm being harshly gripped as she was pulled off the couch and taken into a separate room.

The tension between the blonde and brunette was intense up until the girl bursted into a fit of laughter.

"Do you think this is funny?" Finnick asked her as she finally brought her eyes to his own. He was mad, oh he was fuming with anger, his iconic smirk that rested upon his face was no longer there and if looks could kill Marina was sure she would be dead.

"Oops?" she said trying to lighten the mood although it only seemed to make the mentor angrier. Now she was starting to feel like a fool, whats he so pissed about? I'm the one being sent off to die.

"Do you understand what you did? You're not going to get any sponsors Marina! God, how could you be so arrogant?" The blonde yelled, his frustration was clear as he ran his hand through his hair and turned around. This just pissed the tribute off even more.

"My fault?" she scoffed with an eye roll, "How is this my fault? Maybe if you acted like my mentor you could've, I don't know mentored me?" Finnick started chuckling as he turned back around to face the girl who glared back at his sea-green eyes. "You don't need fucking mentoring Marina, I've seen you at the academy! What you need is a fucking brain, this is survival of the fittest, if you wanna live you need whatever you can take!"
