After Nate was arrested it did not take long for them to release what crimes he was being charged for. He was facing potentially seven years for choking Maddy with the attempt to kill her along with holding that gun to her head. Not only that he could be facing two years for breaking into her house, and he could be facing a year for the assault on Cassie.

All together that was ten years in prison he could be facing if the judge and jury deemed him guilty. And truthfully you hoped that the judge and the jury had a heart filled with compassion and could see that Nate was a fucking monster. You hoped and prayed to every god that resided in the universe that the jury and the judge would take Maddy and Cassie's side.

Luckily, due to his mother wanting to get this over with she decided to have Nate's trial be done faster than usual. She had said on socials that she was ready for her son's actions to be judged and for him to atone for his sins. The woman claimed she could not do it anymore. It pained her heart to be the mother of someone so evil.

You actually felt bad for the poor woman, despite the fact Nate turning out this way was partially her fault. You chose to ignore that though. You could not possibly imagine giving birth to a child only for them to grow up and be as abusive as Nate.

You sighed as you stared at your reflection in your car's mirror. Today was day one of possibly hundred of days of Nate's trial. You were trying to calm your nerves. It wouldn't do any good to snap on Nate in the middle of trial and ruin things for Maddy and Cassie. You all worked so hard just for this day to come, you did not want to ruin it.

Maddy reached across the seat and grabbed you by your tie. She tightened it for you before rubbing one of her nails across your cheek. You could see her faintly smiling in the mirror, "Stop fucking worrying. You're gonna give yourself stress lines."

You let out a dry chuckle, "And if I had stress lines you wouldn't love me anymore huh? because I would look old?" You grabbed her finger before grabbing her hand and locked your fingers with hers.

She rolled her eyes, "Bitch, I would still love you no matter what."

She pulled your hand up and kissed it, some of her lipstick smudging and getting on the back of your hand. You laughed, letting go of her hand and wrapping an arm around her head. You pulled her in close to your body and rubbed her head and then placed a kiss on her forehead. The two of you sat like that for a couple moments, basking in each other's presence.

After a while of sitting there you two sat up when you saw Cassie, Lexi and their mother. They were standing near the entrance of the courthouse seemingly tidying their outfits.

You could hear Maddy sigh as she slowly pushed off of you and fixed her bun. She had slicked her hair back into a tight bun at the back of her head. You admired her black acrylics as she pushed back a few stray hairs. You couldn't help but stare at the girl as she did the last few things she could to tidy her appearance.

You reached over and fixed some of her lipstick that got on the side of her mouth, wiping it off with your fingers.

She smiled, turning her body to look at you again. "I fucking love you (Name)."

"I fucking love you too Maddy." You smiled back.

And with that, the two of you pushed up the car mirrors and got out. Ready to take on the evil monstrosity that is Nate Jacobs.

It was complete silence when all of you walked in. Lexi and Cassie's mom was trying her hardest not to ramble and make the situation worse, Maddy's mom was stomping hard with her flats which got the point across that she did not want to talk to anyone. Lexi was staring straight ahead, obviously not wanting to talk to anyone while Cassie looked at the ground. She seemed unsure of everything, but it was way too late for that now. She already chose her path and now it is time to follow through.

You and Maddy walked hand in hand, gripping each other tightly as you guys made your trek down the long, white hallways.

You could feel Maddy's breath hitch in her throat when you guys finally entered the court room. Her grip tightened even more, it felt like your hand was losing blood circulation and she was going to rip your hand right off.

But despite the pain you kept holding Maddy's hand, guiding her to her seat at the front of the courtroom. Once she sat down and you made sure she was comfortable you gave her a kiss before walking to your seat. Maddy's gaze followed you as you sat down behind her, reminding her that you were always here for her and will continue to be here for her.

She nodded slowly, but her attention was quickly taken from you when Nate walked into the room. He was guided by two officers who had him handcuffed. At first you wondered why, that was until you saw the bruises on him. Seemed like he had an eventful first week in jail. Knowing him he was probably forced to be submissive and didn't like that. You would have laughed at the way he looked like a restrained toddler if it were not for the setting you all were in.

They sat him down in the chair opposite side of Maddy on the other side of the room. As soon as he was seated he looked around, scoping the room. When his gaze landed on you curses flew out his mouth.

"What the fuck is this bitch doing here?" He gestured to you, his handcuffs making all sorts of noises. "Did you really have to bring your stud bitch here? Huh, Madeleine?" Nate slammed his wrists on the table as he leaned over the table to gaze at Maddy. Maddy flinched and turned her gaze to the jury's side of the room, not wanting to look at the boy anymore.

You balled your face up as you glared literal daggers at him. You wanted so badly to jump across all these people and lunge at this boy. He deserved the worst death of them all for what he did. There was no redemption for him, he was long gone. And the way he's acting now is just proving every single point. He's lost it.

He leaned back in his chair with a smile, sucking the inside of cheek. It seemed he just wanted to get a reaction out of Maddy, wanted to test the limit of her fear of him. It looks like he got what he wanted.

Looks like he wanted to say something more before he was cut off by the judge entering the room. Everyone immediately stood up in silence as she made her way to the stand. Once she got there she analyzed the room, looking at Maddy and Cassie before turning her gaze to Nate. She nodded her for a bit and then sat down with everyone following.
