Ch.8

Harmony's P.O.V.

'ok *phew* I can do this.' I thought. I knocked on the door of the duke's office. The butler opened the door. When he looked at me, he told the duke, "Miss Harmony is here." "Hello, duke." I said. I was so nervous. "I- I came to thank you for the hat. Melody and Miss Loretta fell asleep, so I had to replace them." I said.

"You know this isn't a good time for a kid to be awake." The duke said to the maid that came with me. "...Duke, the hat is really pretty, thank you. I'll cherish it." I said, smiling."...ok" the duke said, covering his mouth. I think he was smiling but didn't want to show it.

~The next afternoon~

I want to go on errands, but the air is getting colder so I can't go outside. "Hmmm... Oh!" I got an idea, and went to the kitchen. "Why are you snooping around the kitchen all of a sudden?" grandma asked. "I'd like to do some cost work, too. I have boring hands." "No, aren't you working with the sweet mind?" She asked. "Huh? So I'm ok to eat what I got?" I asked, catching on.

She looked surprised for a second, but then she said, "Do you want me to offer it to you?" she asked. When I ate the peanut (if you're allergic to peanuts, you aren't in this fanfic). I said, "It's a good savory." I wasn't lying. It was delicious. "It looks like the mouth is not broken. I'll ignore it today, but you have to stay out of the kitchen for a week. There is a lot of hustle and bustle, and you just get in the way when you come in." she said, letting out a tch.

"Why? What's going on?" I asked out of curiosity. The three elderly leaders who lead the duchy is here." she answered. "Even the nagging old people are served rice." she said, in an annoyed voice. My memories only came back when the vent was about to happen in like 1 minute, or when it already passed. When she told me about them, I only remembered that the elders were trying to get rid of someone, When I tried to remember more, my head would hurt.

"Now, it's enough to get it. I'll get you some peanuts to eat, so hurry back to your room. If a kid wanders around the mansion alone in the night, it will be a big problem." she said, Making me flinch. 

'I think they are trying to get rid of Loretta, because they think that she is naive.' I thought to myself, until my lit candle I was holding suddenly blew out. 'She should've told me what would happen if little kids wander around the mansion in the night.' I thought, as I internally cried. 

Then, a voice said, "Hey..." "ARGH!" I shouted and used magic to shoot out a light beam (that wasn't harmful) at the person (remember, she know how to use mana thanks to some books at the library in her village). "Young master Ronnie?" I questioned when I saw who it was. 

~Few moments later~

"I came by at my best, but you don't know how to serve tea." he said.  "It's already nighttime. Would you like a peanut?" I asked, opening the bag of peanuts. "Do you think I'm a little boy?" "I'll eat it by myself then." I said. "Why did you want to talk to me?" I asked. "Well... have you heard about it?" "huh?" "About the guests." "The elders?" I asked. "...Come closer." "huh?" "put your ears close!" He whisper-shouted. 

"Watch out for them. These men... don't really like us. They might try to get you out of here." '...Maybe he is telling me this to tell Loretta?' I wondered. 'but why does he think that I am the only one that is going to be kicked out? What is my sister? a rock?' All I remember about Ronnie besides his characteristics, is that I shipped him with Melody. 'Maybe he is also worried about my sister too.'

"I'll make sure to tell them what you said." "Huh?" "But even my sister and the lady knows that the young master is worried about them" "Are you crazy?" He asked, while his whole face turned red again. "So you weren't worried about me, not my sister or Lady Loretta...?" He got up from the couch and turned around. "...I'm sorry, Young Master." I said. "You can be arrogant!" he exclaimed. 

"They definitely said they would get rid of someone like you!" "I'm just a child growing up with them? It's like the young master doesn't care about me." I said. "Who doesn't care- you know what? you're annoying. YOU'RE AWFUL!" He shouted, slamming the door. 'He is like half mean, half kind, CHOOSE A SIDE SO i KNOW WHICH SIDE YOU'RE ON' I thought as I stuck my tongue at him.

~Time skip~

Melody, Loretta, and I was eating breakfast. When the maids looked at us as if they had something to say or had exciting news. "Do you guys have something to say?" I asked. "THe presents have arrived for the ladies!!" They exclaimed. "Present?" Loretta and Melody questioned. "Open it!" When I opened the box, it contained green ribbons inside. "A brighter color would be nicer." said one of the maids. 

~Time skip again~

We all were in the Duke's room. Everyone was sleeping except me. I was reading a book about magic and was trying it out. Then the duke said, "It's unhealthy for a child to be up this late" "But I'm ok." I said "No can do" I sighed and put my book away. "Good night, Sir duke." "...good night" I swear that before I closed my eyes, I saw him smile.

~The next day~

I heard the maids whisper, "The elders look very tired today. 'Of course they haven't slept. They were trying to find Loretta or Melody before he arrived.' I thought as I secretly smirked. "Harmony! Loretta and Melody will be back!" Loretta shouted. Yes, I asked the duke if my sister could go with Loretta, but never told him the reason that she might be kidnapped.

I waved at them back. and went inside. 'Claude and Jeremia will meet Loretta & Melody soon.' I thought, daydreaming. 'I'll help them avoid dangerous events!' *Knock* *knock* I heard a knock. I thought it was butler Higgins, so I opened the door. "Butler Higgins? Are the test results back...?!"

I saw one of the elder standing in front of the door. After a minute silence, he said, "You look more lowly when I look at you closer"
