Ch.9- reunion

Harmony's P.O.V.

'It's one of the elders. Didn't they also go to the temple?' "She's the duke's daughter." When he said that, my whole mood changed. "So the results are in! I'm glad that it's finally clear!" I said, happily. He stayed silent, then said, "It is. You're finally moving out of this mansion after getting paid." He said with a smirk on his face.

"What?" I questioned. "Are you pretending to not know? Wasn't that the purpose of following the child in the first place?" "No, I- I thought I was able to take care of her... " "Oh look after the lady? Isn't that just great." he said, coming in the room. "I know her better than anyone, even my sister." I retorted(?)

"I thought the duke asked you not to wash a bowl because you were a guest. Think about it. What nobleman would use a dish that was polished by the offspring of a criminal?" He questioned. Those words made my heart sink. "He won't let you touch a single dish, will he leave his only precious daughter with you?" "B- but, I know there's something useful for the duke..."

"I knew you were brazen enough to climb all the way up here, but I didn't know it was this much." he said, taking my ribbon that was on my hair away. "Please give it back. It was given bto my by the duke." I said, Hinting a tiny anger in my voice. "The duke told me about you and your mother." 'The duke isn't the kind to talk carelessly about someone!' I thought.

"You look upset. You'll feel better after you get your fees. You're a guest who has brought the duke's own daughter, and we should take care of you. "What about my sister?" I asked. "She'll be taken care of after you." he said, handing me a money bag. Then, a memory flashed in my head. It was the scene when Melody was kidnapped and that was it. Turned my head as a no.

He then shouted, "WON'T YOU JUST COME WITH ME?!" He shouted, then he grabbed my wrist and dragged me. 'I should've read that book last night about controlling electricity.' I thought. "If I pay for your hard work, you can quietly leave with your sister and your mother!" "NO! I DON'T WANT TO!" I shouted. 

"YOU TAKE CARE OF A DUKE'S DAUGHTER. SO WHY DON'T YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR MOTHER?" He asked angrily, Tightening the grip on my wrist. "Ah..." I said. Then it started to rain

The scenario in her head

"thanks to you, I got out of prison. Harmony did a great job. Now, if you go to the duke's house and beg, you'll get a chunk of money. Oh, you won't beg? So.....I should make you want to go." 

Then I saw my dad, "you're still alive? Daughter I am so "sorry" for not treating you nicely in the past, now, let's go rebuild our company. Oh, you don't want to? Then I'll force you to."

~End of the scenario~

When I heard The elder's voice, I snapped out of my thoughts. "Start to the center prison, as soon as possible." "No! I do not want to!" Then my mother's voice came in my head.

~another scenario that is in her head~

"ARE YOU GOING TO BE ONE OF THOSE WICKED CHILDREN OUT THERE?" I heard her say. "ARE YOU GOING TO ABANDON YOUR MOTHER AND LIVE WELL ON YOUR OWN WITH YOUR SISTER?" 

Then I saw my Father in a prison too. "ARE YOU GOING TO LEAVE ME TO ROT IN THIS HELLHOLE?" 

Then it was my sister "WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE ME WITH DAD? DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I HURTED? AND NOW, YOU'RE LIVING A GOOD LIFE? SHAME ON YOU!"

~End of scene.~

"I- it's Not like that... I- It isn't. I- I was wrong...! Please... please forgive me.!" I said, crying. "IS THAT OLD MAN CRAZY? I heard someone shout. When I looked to my right, I saw grandma, EXTREMELY angry.

(me: Grandma to the rescue!)

"LET GO OF THAT POOR GIRL'S HAND! DO YOU THINK YOU'LL BE OK AFTER DOOING THIS TO THE DUKE'S GUEST?! YOU ARE OLDER THAN HER, AND THAT'S WHAT YOU DO TO A CHILD? TRAUMATIZE HER?" She shouted at the elder. Then she turned to me and asked, "Harmony, are you alright? you don't have to listen to crazy words like that, because it's all senile nonsense."

(Senile means: a person having or showing the weaknesses or diseases of old age, especially a loss of mental faculties just in case you didn't know.)

I was still crying, so she said "Don't cry! Everything you ate for breakfast will come out in tears" "N-nanny" I said, still crying. "Mrs. Higgins, that girl even took the fees as she planned."

"So, Did you even give her a lot?" she asked, in an angry voice. "The amount was enough." "Well done on that!" she said, still angry. "You, you thought you were so "Important" just because You snort in front of the duke. You are just a plain old retirees, nothing more, nothing less." 

(Me: TELL HIM, GRANDMA)

Then, he pushed her ruthlessly to the ground. "Nanny!" I shouted, and when I tried to approach her, the other man grabbed me. "Put the child in the carriage. We're leaving right now." "yes, sir." "H- Harmony." was her last words (SHE IS NOT DEAD) before I was taken away.

(nah, shit's getting serious)

We arrived at the center prison. he lead me to the cell room she was in. "What are you doing? Say 'hello'. don't you want to see your mother?" The woman turned to look at me. "......Harmony?"
