January 16th (2 more days till Students Election)

The next day at school was....interesting. A lot of people were either giving me these looks or pointed at me and laughed when I passed them in the halls this morning. Weird, I know.

"Hey Hails. What's up?" I asked casually when I saw her sitting leaning against my locker.

"Not much. Hey, did you finish your Algebra homework yet?"

I nodded, giving her confused look. "Wait a second...did you by any chance didn't finish it?"

She mumbled something incoherently in reply.

I snickered softly. "Fine...I'll help you. But first off, how many questions are you stuck on? One? Maybe two?"

"I'm still stuck on the first question." She muttered quietly. Unfortunately for her, I was born with very good hearing.

I roared with laughter, probably laughing like those stupid hyenas in The Lion King. Hailee narrowed her eyes at me playfully but was probably enjoying me making a fool out of myself.

I came to an abrupt stop when I saw people whispering to each other and staring at me.

They were probably staring because I was laughing too much. I thought uncertainly to myself. But nevertheless, I shrugged it off.

"Hey! Take a picture! It'll last longer!" I yelled loudly. This time, some even laughed.

"How dare those idiots-" I started saying but was cut off by Hailee.

"Calm the freak down Em. It's not your fault THEY HAVE NO SOCIAL LIFE!" She shouted the last part emphatically.

Fortunately, the laughter died down and everyone scurried away.

"See? I told you I have that sort of effect on people." She said proudly.

I backed away. "Um Hailee? You do know that-"

"Don't worry about it anymore. I have a pretty powerful voice if I do say so myself." She continued, not aware of the shadow glaring down at her.

When the realization finally hit her like a truck, she turned slowly around and yelped loudly. Because standing right behind her with his fat ugly purple face glowering at her was the Vice President, Mr. Scott himself.

"Um what ar-are you doing he-here Mr. Scott?" She asked nervously.

He laughed menacingly. "The question is, what are you still doing here? The bell rang 5 minutes ago."

"Oh is that so? I guess I must had lost track of time." She said anxiously. For some reason, Mr. Scott intimidated her.

"OH MY GOD. IS THAT A STUDENT RUNNING OVER THERE BY THE SECOND HALLWAY?" She yelled while pointing in the direction behind Mr. Scott.

"What??? Where?" he bellowed while turning around and scanning his eyes over the corridors.

"RUN! LET'S RUN WHILE WE CAN STILL MAKE IT!" She shouted before grabbing my arm and dashing away, leaving Mr. Scott screeching behind us.

By now, I was shaking with uncontrollable laughter. "What the bloody hell was that about?"

She shrugged. "What? I didn't have a lot of time to plan."

My laughter ceased until it finally stopped. "But why were you always so nervous around Mr. Scott all the time?" I asked curiously.
