Chapter 20 ~ Birthday

I think that part about Pedri persuaded me a bit to wear this dress. Mikky grabs a curling iron and starts curling my hair.

I'm ready, I'm wearing my dress which I still think is too short, my hair and my make up are  done. Pedri's entire team, friends and family are already here. Everyone is in the living room, Pedri can arrive in any time. Auri and I are both holding a number balloon, I have number 2 and Auri has number 0. Because, Pedri is turning 20. We are standing at the end of the hallway. Gavi and Fernando are both holding party poppers, man this is going to be fantastic. We hear a car coming into the driveway, ''Guys Frenkie has texted, he says they are coming in right now. Get ready!'' Everyone is silent, we hear the door lock unlock and the door opens. The party poppers fire off, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY." We all shout. Pedri is completely in shock, ''Guys, that party popper wasn't necessary. I don't have to be deaf on my birthday.'' He looks at us with a fake angry face, but that quickly changes. "Nah just kidding, thanks guys!" He walks towards us and shakes hands or hugs everyone. "LET THE PARTY BEGIN!" Fernando shouts.

The music and lights are turned on, everyone is enjoying themselves and chatting with each other. I'm talking to Gavi about football. Until Pedri walks up to us, "Hey, I know you prepared this whole party so I just wanted to thank you." "No problem Hermano, you have to thank the girls who arranged all this. Especially Yana.'' Gavi says, Pedri now looks at me with a smile. I can't help it and smile back, "You're welcome Pedri." I say, "Thank you so much Mouse, this really is one of the best birthdays ever." He takes a step closer to me and gives me a hug, I have no idea what to do so I awkardly put my arms around him too. "You look beautiful in that dress," he whispers, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. He pulls out of the hug and does his brotherly handshake with Gavi.

I feel myself turning completely red, I have to get out of here before he sees it. I turn around and walk to the first person I see. Luckily it's Mikky, she already sees me walking towards her. ''Gurl, what happened to you haha. Oh by the way, we're going to cut the cake or whatever, make sure everyone is coming outside.'' Before I could say anything else, she has already walked away. "EVERYONE GET OUT WE'RE GOING TO CUT CAKE FOR MR. GONZALEZ." Ferran shouts out of nowhere, well I don't have to do that anymore.

We all walk outside, Pedri is already standing by the cake and so is Mikky. "Okay guys, of course we're going to sing for him first." Pedri's face immediately freezes, he looks at us with a help-me look. But all we do is laugh at him. We start singing, let's just say it sounded really, really good ehum. Not Ferran who actually just screamed the entire song, but after singing for 1 minute it was enough. The cake is cut and some photos were taken. ''Yana, Auri! Let's take a picture with the four of us.'' Gavi shouts. I let out a deep sigh, but I'm already being pulled along by Auri.

I have to stand next to Pedri, but he puts his hand on my hip. I'm starting to go crazy and blush like an idiot. After the photo I wanted to walk away as fast as possible, but the photographer stops me. "Madame, would you mind standing there for a moment, I want to take another photo of you and Mr. Gonzalez alone." God damn, why!? But I can't say no, so I walk back. Pedri is already looking at me, smiling. I stand next to him again and he puts his hand around my waist. I smile at the camera, but suddenly I feel a hand under my chin. My face turns and I am now face to face with Pedri, his face comes closer and closer and not a second later I feel his lips on mine. Whoa, I didn't see this coming. This was a little bit awkard, I feel someone's eyes on us so I pull out of the kiss. We look at each other for a moment, but I walk away without saying anything. I feel his eyes burning on my back.

I walk back into the house and walk through the crowd to the toilet. The music is really loud man, I think I'm going to be deaf after today. I walk into the toilet and lock the door. I splash some water on my face and lean against the sink, what just happened. My head is about to explode, in a positive way, but so much has been happening with me and Pedri lately. It's a little bit confusing, I think I should talk to him. "EVERYTHING OKAY IN THERE?" Mikky shouts, "YES! EVERYTHING IS FINE.'' ''OKAY.''

I decide to go back. I walk out of the toilet, I close the door and want to turn around. But I bump into someone. "Oh sorry." I look up, it's Pedri's brother. ''Don't worry, it's okay, you're Yoana, right? Pedro has told a lot about you, I mean in a good way.'' My face freezes, what? Pedri talking about me? I think he noticed that I'm a bit in shock, "Sorry, I'm Fernando, Pedri's brother." And he holds out his hand, I shake his hand. "Nice to meet you, I'm Yoana but you probably already knew that." We both laugh and start a whole conversation, Fernando is really so sweet! He and Pedri actually look quite a lot alike, which makes sense because they are brothers. Suddenly a slow song comes on, Fernando drags me to the so-called dance floor and pushes me forward. I almost fall but I feel someone grab my arms. It's Pedri...

"Whoa, watch out." "Yeah sorry, your brother pushed me." He mumbles something and all I could understand was "Typical Fer." so it was on purpose.. damn this night isn't good for me. "Um do you want to dance?" He asks. What, the Pedro Gonzalez asks me to dance? "Uh yeah why not. But I can't dance." "Me neither." We both laugh, I put my arms around his neck and he puts his arms around my hips. I rest my head on his shoulder and we sort of dance like that for a while. It's so soothing, I felt like I was just away from the world. My head was completely empty and I was enjoying the moment between us. He is truly magical, when I am with him I am automatically calm. Ugh I love him, the song stops and the loud party music comes back on. We both stop and look into each other's eyes, I can just see his eyes shining. And to be honest, I've never seen that by him, but there's that strange feeling again. That strange connection, everytime we look into each other's eyes...

But Mikky disrupts the moment, she suddenly grabs my arm and drags me into the hallway, away from Pedri. "Mik, did you really have to do that ?" "Um, no and yes. You two really look cute together, but everyone was literally staring at you. So I thought I'd come and help you out and I have to tell you something." "Uh, are you serious?!" "Yeah.. but anyways, Ferran, Fernando, Auri, Frenkie and I are staying here. Me and Frenkie may have already claimed your room, Ferran is sleeping on the couch, Fernando in the game room and Auri is of course going to stay with Gavi. We have decided together that you will sleep with Pedri.'' ''WHAT?! What do you mean, I haven't heard anyone say anything about this, did Pedri also decide or not?'' ''No... But it's been decided, you can always sleep on the floor if you want.'' Never that I'm going to sleep on the floor, one night with him couldn't be so bad.. "fine." I walk to the kitchen and pour cola into a glass. I take it with me outside and sit on one of the sun beds, no one is outside.

1 hour later

It's already quite late in the evening, almost everyone is already gone. I'm currently sitting outside on a sunbed with a glass of coke in my hand. It's a bit chilly outside, but I'm fine here. I think I've been here for an hour, I like being alone sometimes. But I'm not sure whether I should give him the gift, because I bought him a leather bracelet with a heart engraved in it. I don't even know why I bought it and believe it or not I've only been thinking about this for over an hour.

I grabbed the box a few minutes ago, because I felt like throwing it away. But I didn't do it anyway, I let out a deep sigh. The cold breeze hits my skin, it gives me goosebumps. Suddenly I see Pedri walking towawrds me, "Hey, what are you doing here? It's really cold.'' ''Hey, I can ask you the same question.'' ''Alright, everyone is already gone except for a few people, but I felt like taking a dip and you?'' ''Oh, I'm just sitting here because it's nice and quiet. But you just said it's cold and you want to go swimming now.'' ''Yeah? The pool is warm. Do you want to swim?'' ''Nah, I'll just sit on the edge.'' ''That's fine, I'll be right back.''
