Murphy honks the truck's horn as they wait behind a car. " Come on! Move it! One other car in the apocalypse, and I'm stuck behind it. Get out of the road, Apocabilies!"
" You're gonna attract Zs." 10k wanted to avoid any more attention directed towards them. They were already in an armored truck. Not to mention that the driver was blue, and everyone else inside the vehicle had a bite mark somewhere on them.
" Relax, kid. You're with me."
"Maybe we should help them."
"I'll handle this." Murphy and 10k exit the van and walk up to the car.
Two parents and their daughter sit in the car about to Mercy their daughter."Don't. Don't. Don't! She's dying. Don't touch her! No! We can't let her turn." As soon as the father brings the screwdriver back to stab the daughter, the door opens.
"What is it gonna take to get you people out of the road?"
"Our daughter's dying."
" Oh. Maybe I can help."
As the armored truck drives away, the mother cradles her daughter's head in her lap, similar to what 10k was doing with Lana hours before. But when the mother moves her hand, she reveals that Murphy had bitten the little girl as well.

As the truck reaches the top of the hill, it stops, and Murphy hops out. "Why are we stopping here?"
"To take in the view. There it is. Home of the 1974 World's Fair. You ever hear of the Lilac City, kid?" 10k just stares at the view. Was this his life now? Following Murphy in hopes of staying alive? And... well... because he has no other choice. He looks back at the truck briefly. In that truck is where an unconscious Lana still lay. At least he had her. " Course you haven't. You grew up in a cave. Take it in. You got nature right here. It's perfect. Our new home. Spokane!"

Doc sat in the old post office with the rest of the group and the sad, lonely mailman. He realized that he missed the 'kids.'
Lana would be standing on the bed of the old black pickup truck, hair in the wind, and Warren drove. He remembered her laughing when he would join her by sticking his head out the window like a dog. He chuckles when he recalls how mad she got at 10k when he first learned how to drive, and he stepped on the gas, causing her to fall off the roof.
10k used to laugh at his jokes, and that time when he almost died in the vents, and 10k thought he died. Doc remembered the heartbreak he saw on his face.

As she opened her eyes, Lana squinted due to the sunlight coming in through the window. Not knowing where she was, she sat up in a panic, the sleeve of her dark blue shirt falling off her shoulder. She looks down, noticing that she is also in gray sweatpants. Not the clothes she was in before. Walking around the room, she notices a folder of clothes with a note on it on a chair in the corner.
Meet me in my office. Whenever you wake up, that is - Murphy

10k wakes up on the ground after the doctor stabbed him in the neck with a vaccine. "You stabbed me."
"You were under Murphy's control. The bite on your neck."
" What?" He reaches back to touch it. Almost like he never realized it was there before.
"I gave you a dose of the original HZN1 vaccine. It counters his bite and frees us from Murphy's control. I've been taking it too. I need your help. Murphy wants to save humanity by turning them into human-zombie blends." She looks back at 10k while packing a bag. Seeing that he was thinking about something, she spoke up, " Don't worry about your friend. I gave it to her while she was sleeping."
He looked at her and nodded. "What are we gonna do?"
"We need to destroy the vaccine. These injectors are our boosters. Without them, we will slowly slip back under his control."
"When do we take them next?"
"You'll know when. Just don't wait too long. And be careful. We're immune to Murphy's control, but not to the zombies anymore. And the Zs know it. Go get a vehicle. I will meet you out front
after I destroy the batch."
"Where are we going? I'm not leaving Lana. Not again."
"I don't know. Away from Murphy. And don't worry. Go to his office quickly."
"Okay." He nods his head and runs off.
...
" Hello... Hello? Anyone here?" Lana had been walking the halls of this dusty building for a while now and had not seen anyone. She got to a room that she assumed was Murphy's office. Walking over to the window and looking out she sees a zombie moat. Oh yeah, this was Murphy's place. Hearing footsteps approachthe office she turns around to see 10k. " 10k whats..."
He grabs her arm and hands her a bag. " I'll explain later. Right now we need to go." 10k loads up the truck outside while Lana stands inside the building doors. " I have to get one more thing." 10k says as he walks through the doors of the building. "Let's get your stuff, and let's go. Dr. Merch? Dr. Merch?" He puts a hand on the woman's shoulder and turns her around. The woman looks at him blankly with another Murphy bite mark on her other cheek.
"I'm sorry. You looking for these? Sorry, but these are for me. But you two do look like you could use a little Murphy booster to keep you in line. Don't worry. I don't have to bite you again. You can be the first to try the new blend vaccine.
10k shoves Murphy back and grabs the vaccine bag the other pushing Lana behind him protectively. "Now, now. We don't take what isn't ours. I'm trying to help you, God dammit. What's the matter? You're not one of those anti-vaxxers, are you?"
The two look at each other and nods. 10k jumps out of the window, landing in the back of the truck, the wind getting knocked out of him. Lana was a little smarter. She just tucked and rolled. " Catch him! He's got my medicine! After them!Everybody after them!"

The two ran through the woods and hopped on a fence. Three of Murphy's goons were chasing after them. "I don't blame you, kids. But Murphy cares about you. And he only wants to help. It's time to come home." 10k looks down at the bag full of vaccines and back at Lana. She shakes her head no. They both knew Murphy, and he didn't care about the kids. He just cared about the vaccines. The two turned around, jumped off one part of the building on another, and continued running.

Both Lana and 10k run onto a bridge. On one side, Zs were coming in hot. On the other was Murphy's goons. Both were closing in quickly. Jumping on the edge of the bridge, they both jump. If they were to go out, at least they went out together. Once they both hit the water, the rapids swept them away.
