Yn POVThe rest of the school day was uneventful; baby Shouta stayed in the teacher's lounge for the most part. And with the old man's absence, life was dull, and the more you were away from him, the more you missed him. Travelling home with the boy was no fun task. You had nothing to discuss, and the group dynamic was thrown off.
I was sitting on the couch with a bowl of burned fried rice in my hand. The three of us ate silently, the TV blasting Rick and Morty. Periodically, I could feel Shouta glancing at me. But at this point, I didn't care. I was too tired. I guess I'd be just like this if Shouta weren't around. The thought of that scares me a bit. It makes me think about what my life will be like when our time is up. Will I still see him? Will I be ok? Will we be strangers, and will I be happy? The absence of his presence makes me unhappy, and I do not know what to do about it
I set the bowl aside, swallowing the ashy taste and leaving for my room.
Sitting on Shouta's bedside, I ruffled through his bedside table drawer and ground a box of cigarettes. Finding it, I flicked the box open. The smell of nostalgia I craved made me smile. Crawling onto the window, seel, I sat down, placing the scent of Aizawa in between my lips.Click, click, click
"daMIT WORK!" I said to the dysfunctional light.
"What are you doing," A sassy, unfamiliar voice said from behind me.
"Ahh!... not cool, little shou, not cool," I shouted in surprise. Walking up to the window, he gazed up at me.
"Want one," I said, handing him a stick.
"No, I don't do that," he said disgustingly.
"What, you don't?" I giggled in disbelief.
"You're telling me that you, Shouta Aizawa, don't want a cigarette,"
"Yes, why do I smock in the future,"
"Yes, Shouta, you very much do," I sighed.
"Ok, then give me one," he said.
"Are you sure," I said, hesitating to place it in his hand.
"No better time than the present, right? "he said, grabbing the thing and putting it between his lips.
"Ya, I guess", I said, lighting it for him to cough out,
"Ha, so hilarious,"
"Don't laugh at me. It's my first time," He said as I continued to laugh. I was grabbing the boy's face and examining it.
The boy's heart skipped
"I think I'm in love," the boy whispered.
"How old are you," I asked, not quite hearing the boys merging.
"15"
Nodding in acknowledgment, the both of you settled into the silence. The boy becomes more relaxed with each inhalation.
"Hay, I was just wondering about our conversation in the classroom; what did you mean when you said you were sad about us?" Shouta whispered, looking away from me; the question startled me: why would he remember such a small mistake of the tongue? Collecting myself, I turned away, playing with the lighter.
"What did I say," I questioned, hoping he would drop the topic.
"What did you mean when you said you were sad we weren't together."
You sighed into a laugh." why would I tell you that, little shou? Don't you think it's personal,
"Does it matter? I'll forget when I turn back,"
"I guess, but there is no place to start,"
"I don't care," he pleaded.
"I think I'm in love with you" I huffed
"Well, not you, the older you. I don't know why; I mean, you, you, so it's kinda strange, and maybe got brain damage or-" I rambled before I was interrupted by the boy's laughter.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Look, just calm down; there's no point in freaking out; I don't think you have anything to worry about. If I am anything like I am when I'm older, I don't know how I could not be in love with you."
"Thanks, shou. I needed that, and I promise I will tell you when you become normal again.
